Publisher's summary

Sports agent Myron Bolitar is poised on the edge of the big time. So is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron's prized client. But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend, a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead, the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family's tragedy, a woman's secret, and a man's lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business - where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.

In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction - Myron Bolitar - a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each pause-resisting appearance.

Really enjoyed this!!

Great story. Kept me guessing until the very end. I really enjoyed the Myron Bolitar character. Humorous, clever and a good detective, even though now he is a sports agent. His best friend Win was a great addition. I will look for other books starring these two characters. And I think the narrator did a terrific job.

Good book, poor narration.

Great book, well written. It was difficult to listen sometimes due to the narrator.

Not his best

I like the characters sense of humor and the interactions of them all. I made the mistake of listening to one of the books from the series prior to the first. I absolutely loved that one, but this one fell short. It seemed the characters jumped around too much and the characters, while introduced well enough, still seemed to be lacking. Maybe it is because it's the first book of the series, but the later book the characters were more identifiable.

I loved the book but...

... unfortunately the audio chapters didn't match the book chapters. That makes listening a bit of a challenge for someone who can't stop unless it's at the end of a chapter.

If you could sum up Deal Breaker in three words, what would they be?

Just a good listen

What other book might you compare Deal Breaker to and why?

a mystery novel

Any additional comments?

Bring back Jonathan Marosz for the remaining series of this character

A good listen!

I enjoy listening to Harlen Coben's Myron Bollitar Series better than reading them. Johnanthan Marosz must be the reason.

Narrator dies at the end of every sentence.

Aside from the voices he painfully gives a little character to, he narrates with a “low”after every sentence, and speaks in a monotonous tone that has forced me to stop listening to several of his observations. . Just listen to his narration; it’s simply uninspired. Some how, no matter what the story, he ends every sentence with a low. If I am not explaining it correctly, please let me try again.

All of his readings follow a monotonous cadance, concluded by conclusion.
