Publisher's summary

Charlaine Harris' Anthony Award-winning Sookie Stackhouse mysteries have become a fixture on the New York Times best-seller list and have inspired the acclaimed HBO series True Blood.

In her ninth adventure, Sookie has just tied on her cocktail waitress apron for a night's work when a special report comes on the television. The time has come. The wereanimals have revealed themselves.

But there's an even greater danger threatening Bon Temps. A race of unhuman beings - older, more powerful, and more secretive than vampires or werewolves - is preparing for war. And Sookie finds herself an all-too human pawn in their battle.

Poor Sookie

Ok she really cant catch a break. If this is the price for all that mind blowing sex she gets, no lets say its the perk. The girl NEEDS that ecstasy.

Love the triangle

This is one fun read. Ms Harris really knows how to stretch the tension between these characters. As far as Sookie's men are concerned, just when you think you are rooting for one, the other(s) start looking good again. We are left at the edge of our seats waiting to see what happens next.
This is really addicting!

most heartbreaking

the first time i read this book I stopped reading the series for years because of the ending. it's a great story but its the fae war and its devastating. when I got to the end and realized what was coming I almost skipped to the next book. Faeries are my favorite part about the series. Sookie is so tough and it really shows in this book.

One of my favorites!!

Finally, the love story between Sookie and Eric makes real progress—and the friendship with Bill appears to be solidified. This is definitely one of my favorites of the series!

Sookie's experience the fairy world

This book is wonderful as always. From the first moment Sookie wakes up in the morning, her life is never dull. Her relationship with Eric becomes more intimate and more loyal. Her relationship with her Fairy great grandfather puts Sookie and many other into deadly peril. This is one of the best Supernatural series that I love reading. Hope you enjoy this series as much as I do. Also, Johanna Parker is one of my favorite narrator if there is an Award for narrators, she should win it.

I LOVE THIS WHOLE SERIES!!!!!!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This series is incredibly addictive and fun. It's funny, complex, sexy, and the character of Sookie is so real. I just don't know how to give enough information to explain why it was so great. It's like that song you just love so much and yes you know you like each thing about it, but the way they all go together is just perfect. I was sad when I finished the last one. I WANT MORE!!!!!

Another too-short installment

I was reluctant to get started with this series at all. Vampires? I had just finished listening to the Twilight series and wasn't quite ready for another one. My husband kept nagging me "did you start it yet"? So I finally did and I managed to listen to the entire series (all 9 books) in less than 5 weeks. I found listening to all 9 books close together and without other interloping books to be a great way to enjoy the series and unlike most series I could hardly put this one down. Can hardly wait for the next one!
