I love Sookie...

I don't know how I feel about Bill. The book seemed to leave him a little flat. I am looking forward to the other books in the series. Audible needs to get the 4th book!!!

It's pretty much season one of true blood.

The book was great. There's quite a few discrepancies between the book and the show. For one Terra isn't in the book at all and Lafayette is hardly mentioned at all. But overall the main story line is pretty much same. Hard to get used to the narrator at first specially if you watched a lot of true blood and are accustomed to what the characters are supposed to be like. One thing for sure is if you're a true blood fan you won't want to miss these books just to see how certain things or situations play out differently or don't play out at all.

Ok story and characters / annoying narration

Any additional comments?

It seems like most reviewers rave about the voice given to Sookie by the narrator, but I think that was the worst part. The accent given to Sookie did not sound like Louisiana and she also sounded very butch and masculine. I had a hard time not picturing her with short hair and wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt, looking like a guy (maybe a cigarette behind one ear). The performance of the narrator, however, was great and I even really liked the guy voices, I just never got used to the voice given to Sookie.

Very Enjoyable listen.

Would you listen to Dead Until Dark again? Why?

Yes I would because I enjoy Sookie Stackhouse, I love the sillyness of it all and the reader was very entertaining.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead Until Dark?

When Sookie is reunited with Bill after she believes he might be dead.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time I would definately have listened in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I am encouraged to listen to all the others now. I loved reading the Sookie Stackhouse books and am pleased that a good job has been done with the audiobooks.
