Tandy Angel may have played the hero when she solved the case of her magnificently wealthy parents' mysterious deaths, but she isn't done yet. Her brother, Matthew, stands trial for homicide, young girls are found murdered all around New York's Upper West side, and Tandy is determined to use her piercing intellect to get to the bottom of both cases. But the biggest mystery of all may be what actually happened to James Rampling, the handsome son of a family enemy, whom Tandy fell in love and ran away with - though most of her memories of the affair are disturbingly absent....
The confessions keep coming as Tandy delves even deeper into her own tumultuous history and the skeletons in the Angel family closet.

RETIRED & LOVING IT.
I NOTICED THAT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS WERE NEGATIVE FOR THIS BOOK. I HAVE COME TO BELIEVE AFTER LISTENING TO THE SECOND BOOK OF THE SERIES, THAT YOU MUST READ THE FIRST; WHICH I HAD DONE A DAY AGO. THE TWO BOOKS WORK SEAMLESSLY TOGETHER. IF YOU TAKE THE SECOND BOOK, OF AND BY ITSELF, YOU REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CHARACTERS HAVE SUFFERED UNDER THEIR PARENTS WHICH IS SPELLED OUT IN DETAIL IN A WONDERFUL MYSTERY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PUT INTO ONE BOOK, BUT IT WOULD BE AN OVERWHELMINGLY LARGE ONE. I THINK JAMES AND THE NARRATOR DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND I REALLY LOVED THE STORY LINE AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THE PROTAGONIST. IT IS A CLEAN, FUNNY AT TIMES, WONDERFUL LIST OF CHARACTERS THAT MAKE UP THE ANGEL FAMILY. PLEASE DO READ "CONFESSIONS OF A MURDER SUSPECT" BEFORE YOU READ "CONFESSIONS: THE PRIVATE SCHOOL MURDERS". THIS REALLY IS A RED HERRING TITLE IN MY OPINION, FOR THEY REALLY ARE NOT IN SCHOOL THAT OFTEN, BUT SCHOOL DOES PLAY A SIGNIFICANT PART OF THE PROTAGONIST FLOWERING RETURN OF HER MEMORY ~~WHICH WAS STOLEN THAT PLAYS OUT OF THE WHYS AND WAYS IT ALL HAPPENED IN "CONFESSIONS OF A MURDER SUSPECT".
JAMES, YOU DID A GREAT JOB IN HOLDING DOWN THE UNTOWARD LANGUAGE AND SEXUAL SITUATIONS, THAT SO HAMPER YOU SINCE YOU STARTED WRITING WITH OTHER AUTHORS. MAXINE, THANK THE LORD, DID A FINE JOB IN KEEPING IT CLEAN SO YOUR KIDS COULD LISTEN TO THIS STORY ON A TRIP AS A FAMILY. KEEP THE SERIES GOING WITH THE ANGEL CHILDREN AS THEY TRULY ARE A REMARKABLE FAMILY.
Yes, their Murder Club books are great.
The narrator was not the problem with this book. It was the book itself.
Don't think that any one character was the problem; it was how the entire book was put together.
I was stunned that this book was so bad when the Murder Club books have been so very good.
The narrator was boring and the book was slow and at times confusing. Overall I wish I would have saved my money.
Slow in the action and narrator boring
not purchase books with Emma Gavin reading
This is a novel for a teenager. Most of what James Patterson writes is for adults. This would be a good book for a teenage girl.
I loved Tandy's stronger attitude, despite the fact that she felt she was an emotional fool at times, it was better than being a robot. She solved many a crime this time also. There were so many different storylines that I thought the wrap up would be sloppy and rushed, but I was wrong. This book also answered many of my questions from the first book too, which was great.
Although this book wrapped a lot of things up nicely, there was a left enough of a cliffhanger to want to move on to the next, which I believe is successful from an author's standpoint.
I am recommending this book to friends but urge them to read the first book before this one. If not it won't have the same impact. After the first book I couldn't wait for this one and was not disappointed. I could see how it would not be as interesting to readers if they had not read the first one beforehand, Understanding the characters past is necessary to make this one a good reading.
She nails her characters and gives them a voice/
Yes! I loved the many characters and the story!
Jacob was my favorite because of his selflessness and dedication.
I thought she nailed it!
All of it was moving!
All of them
Really enjoy Patterson books but this one is poorly written. I stopped listening about two hours in. It doesn't flow, it jumps around.
