Comorbid

Comorbid: A Gripping Psychological Thriller
: Lorelei Logsdon

This psychological thriller sends the listener back and forth between present time and the protagonist's early years. There are twists and turns that keep the listener guessing. The ending though was a bit predictable.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Brad Carl.

A roller coaster ride thriller!

Sometimes the best books are the ones where you want to smack the hero on the side of the head and tell him he's an idiot until he finally realizes it himself!

This is one of those great books because the hero has to come to his own conclusions at his own pace. And just when you think he made a really boneheaded move, he manages to save himself, so you can forgive him and keep cheering for him.

Try not to read the publisher's summary for this book before you read it. Now you're going to go and read it, aren't you? Seriously, don't because for some dumb reason, they tell you that you won't guess the ending and if you think you have, then you are wrong. Well, they are silly to give a challenge to a reader like me with over 600 books in my library because, yeah, challenge accepted, and it's a dumb challenge to throw out there, but I won't say why. Just trust me and resist the urge to second guess this book. It's an awesome book without any guessing! Do yourself a big favor and don't try to guess anything. Just enjoy the story and try to have compassion for a hero who has had self-esteem issues his whole life, and take the ride of a true coming of age tale told artfully well.

Although I was given this book at no charge in exchange for an unbiased review, I forgot immediately that I didn't pay for it because it was so enjoyable and fit right in with the kind of story I would gladly have chosen and will happily buy future book from this same author. and narrator. Brad Carl made me forget that he wasn't the author several times, and that's always the sign of a great narration.

Super enjoyable listening experience. Highly recommended for a great thrill ride.

Gripping and Intense

This book is written by an author whom is new to me and performed by a narrator that was new as well. Both are extremely talented. I really enjoyed all of the twists and turns this book took, plus the ending was terrific. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. I would definitely look for more audiobooks by either Lorelei Logsdon and Brad Carl.

Oh My God that was spooky!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a very gripping tale. You're not sure who Allistair is until nearly the very end. Brad did it so well with the duology

What was one of the most memorable moments of Comorbid?

Without giving it away, it comes near the very end - and it really sucks you in.

What does Brad Carl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's so different when you hear a voice actor perform the story. I loved this novel when I read it but to hear it is such a different level.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was spooky!!!

Any additional comments?

Bravo to Lorelei and Brad on a job well done.

Blech

I had the big "twist" in the storyline figured out right from the beginning and felt the book never really got more exciting than the first chapter. The pacing was also slow. The narrator had a very deep voice, which I found distracting...particularly when he went into falsetto, which was every time he feigned another character in the book. The only saving grace is that the listen time was relatively short compared to most books I choose. I suggest skipping it.
