Ani't there no more

This is a must listen for Clancy fan. It lives up to everything we expect from him, and
as we say down in New Awlins (New Orleans) of precious thing that has passed-

Job Completed

If you could sum up Command Authority in three words, what would they be?

The story is tight and quick action

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Perhaps not so much quick action, somewhat contradicts the above however at thime too much going on for me.

What does Lou Diamond Phillips bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Emotions and clarity, I really enjoyed his work and will add novels he participates with in the future.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

NO

Any additional comments?

I notice the trend of dual authors and just do not believe the story quatlity is the same as the older novels. I for one will probably avoid this franchise in the future.

Like a Clancy original

This book read like the original Jack Ryan books. I liked the flashbacks tying everything together.

Might be the best Clancy I've ever read (heard ?)

Where does Command Authority rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Best of the 6 or so thrillers I've listened to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Ryan Junior is probably my favorite character. Most of the story revolves around him but his dad, President Ryan (the original Jack) is also a prominent character. The advantage of having a "junior" around is you get all the fun and games of an action figure plus the wisdom and experience of Jack senior who has been there done that.

Have you listened to any of Lou Diamond Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

One other and it was also excellent but this one is awesome. His accents are great. German, Russian, Scottish, etc.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me want to go for long drives so I could keep listening.

Any additional comments?

I must reiterate, I think this might be my favorite Clancy of all time and I've read them all since Red October.

Details. Details. Details.

For the love of God!!! Navy enlisted personnel are CORPSMEN!!!! (Pronounced core-men or man). They are not “medics”. They may be the Navy equivalent of Army medics but their designation is corpsman/men. There are dozens of other little mis-designations etc.

Another great story!

Weaving several exciting plots, locations, and even 30 years across multiple locations all in vivid detail creates yet another Jack Ryan classic. Lou Diamond Phillips is a master voice actor, all of the characters and accents stand out this time as individuals making this perfect to listen to!

Not bad. Not the best but not bad.

LDPhillips does a passable job, think he could’ve ‘listened’ to few of the other books n gotten a better idea of how some regular supporting characters sound…they’ve been pretty pre-established in previous books.
His voice is clear, pleasant sounding and has enough energy tho.
I thought the story sort of dragged along tho. I don’t think Clancy must’ve had that much to do with it under the circumstances. It didn’t flow like normal.
But was passable.
