Best-selling author of Hot Blooded Lisa Jackson reunites detectives Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya in this gripping psychological thriller. As a serial killer terrorizes New Orleans, the detectives enlist the aid of psychic Olivia Benchet. As the beautiful Olivia paints a vivid portrait of the man they seek, Bentz finds himself thinking of nothing but seducing her. But as the killer claims yet another victim, Bentz realizes that both Olivia and his daughter Kristi are the next targets.

This book was very good. The only problem I had with it was when I got to part 2, the chapters were out of order. I listened for a while thinking I had missed something, but when I got to the end of the book and there were still 3 hours left, I realized the chapters were off. I'm now listening to the missing chapters, which are out of order also. I have to keep flipping around to find the right order. It's not easy.
i was hesitant to download this book since previous reviewers had mentioned the chapters are out of order. But i had already read Hot-Blooded and Shiver, and missed this one, so i decided to go ahead. I thought that perhaps since those reviews were written, the problem had been corrected.
The story and performance were very good. For most of the book i thought the killer was obvious, only to find out near the end that i was wrong, so i enjoyed the suspense and it was a good read.
Unfortunately the chapter order has not been corrected, but it is only in the last couple of hours of part 2 that the sequence of events is mixed up, and by then the story is far enough along that i could figure it out. The very last chapter and epilogue are correct, it's the 3-4 chapters previous to that which are out of order.
If you're a fan of Lisa Jackson's novels and don't want to miss this one, i would say go ahead and get it. In the meantime i will try to find a customer support email to report this.
Great book, good plot, well-written and well-narrated. But somehow there's quite a bit of "something" missing between Part 1 and Part 2. I even downloaded it again to see if that would help. Not sure what the problem is, but be aware that it feels like a chapter or two has gone missing in this mystery.
Love a great book that stays with you long after you've finished it.
Very mediocre book. Like choosing the wrong chocolate from the box, you wish you would have chosen a different one. Predictable, boring, just a nothing listen. I'm sure others would not mind this narrator, but I found her annunciations to be hard to listen to.
This is actually a very good story and is well read. Unfortunately the chapters are out of order. I find this totally unacceptable in an audio book! This recording should be pulled off the market until it is corrected.

A believable plot line
Something OTHER than a bodice ripping romp. It has NOT increased my interest in any way.
Its just O.K. good performance with unbelievable plot line. Totally unbelievable characters. This author achieves nothing for me except to remove the books from my library and never buy anything else written by her.
It must have been a challenge for the poor narrators not to break down with laughter at some of what she had to read. I have no fault with the narrator. Utter disappointment.
If you just want to read about humans in heat this is for you. Do not expect a story, a mystery or anything other than badly written soft porn. Do not waste your money.

Entertaining crime thriller!
The plot made it difficult for me to stop reading.
Actually, I hate when women try and do men voices because it sounds like nails scraping down a chalk board which distracts from the story. Especially in the Romance department.
But Ms. Bresnahan sounded ok because she didn't try to sound like a man. It was her voice, maybe a bit deeper but not so noticeable that it distracted from the story.
I still prefer men narratives for my Romance Suspense, Mystery reads.
This story was an A+ read for me! but....
-------------- SPOILER ALERT ---------------------
When 'so and so' was dying, it felt like a B movie cliche where a person seems as though their dead, then lifts their head to say something, seems like they died for real this time but lifts their head once again to speak more. I was mentally screaming, just die already, good grief!
It was drawn out so freakin' long when a simple, I'm sorry or forgive me, would have sufficed and kept the moment in that heart wrenching stage.
I definitely recommend this!
