I enjoyed this

Keeping in mind that my exposure to Hercule Poirot has been primarily through PBS dramatizations, I enjoyed this rendering. It seemed fairly consistent in terms of environment, tension and complexity, but Poirot's final explication of who did what leading up to "whodunnit " was a bit drawn out.

Good job carrying on Agatha Christie's Poirot Mysteries.

The language style is well matched and narrator did an excellent job with it. Very similar to David Suchet.

The mystery was entertaining and full of suspects. The characters are eccentric as they should be.

A simple case

A tale with a lot of twist and turns; only at the end do you find out who is guilt. the narrative is excellent as usual.

Does Not Disappoint

A very close facsimile of Agatha Christie. Author captured Poirot rather well. Satisfying read and worth a listen.

Another Great Poirot mystery!

Well written book. Agatha Christie would be proud. Julian Rhind-Tutt does an amazing job reading the book and is great with Poirot's voice. I love the relationship between Poirot and Catchpool. Highly recommend.

Wandering story but great narration

The author deserves kudos for being chosen to pick up the legacy of Agatha Christie and has put forth a clever and intriguing plot, but exaggerated mannerisms of the characters, frequent rabbit-trails of the narrative, and over-written scenes are wearying. I find myself mentally editing as I listen.

The biggest mystery to me is how Catchpoole got to be a Scotland Yard inspector. He seems inexperienced in detection, unfamiliar with police procedure, acts like a sulky teenager at times, and his frequent mental tangents make me suspect he has attention-deficit disorder. The naiveté that was endearing in Hastings is perplexing in Catchpoole.

But overall the plotting is sound, and psychological and complex enough for a Christie mystery. The execution just needs a little work.

Good Christie clone

If you're an Agatha Christie fan you should enjoy this book and Audible makes it better, just a little slow at the end, could have been tightened

Great story, great performance

Wonderful performance of a story with wit and twist. The Christie family may have found a reason to resurrect Hercule, and a wonderful team to bless the world with new adventures.

Well done; highly recommended.
