Publisher's summary

When a robbery goes bad, undercover cop Mick Dawson can't believe Delilah Piper (aka mystery writer Lela DeBraye) was just in the wrong place at the wrong time...and neither do the perps. The only way to protect her while he investigates what really happened is to stick with her 24/7 -- and try not to fall for the object of his investigation.

Just Okay

The book wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. I was bored for quite a while, but fortunately it did get better towards the end. Not a bad book if you don't mind predictable. Was a brainless, easy listen. Not as good as some of her other books. The reader wasn't bad.

good book

THis was a light quick listen. The hero was all alpha dreamy, the heroine was smart but dense. The side characters were funny and interesting. I think this is like the 3rd book in the series so I'll have to double back and catch up. The only negative thing have to say is the instalove was OFF THE CHARTS.

Two Things

Two things kept me going. First was the mystery of whether a woman writer could really write anything this sophomoric. It was the sort of writing I would have imagined from a 13 year-old boy just discovering puberty. Second, I was amused at just how really bad it was. I found myself laughing out loud. Part of the problem was the genre confusion - if I'd been reading this as a bodice ripping Romance Novel I wouldn't have been so caught off guard.

SLOW!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The actual story was not bad, but was poorly written. Although the narrater had little to work with it could have been read with more emphasis on each character.

What was most disappointing about Lori Foster’s story?

The first 3 chapters was what the cop wanted to do to Del, and what Del wanted to do to him. It was so slow, I didn't think I could finish it, but then decided to forward to the next chapter, listen a few minitutes and go to the next chapter...and doing it that way I was able to get the gist of what was happening and get through it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Not enough voice fluctuation.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Caught in the Act (Men to Rescue)?

I would rewrite the whole thing. Rather than just going over and over how sexually attracted Del and Mick were to each other, I'd give a little background on the main characters, bring their lives up to date when they finally meet, so the listener would at least know something about the characters and maybe it wouldn't seem so unrealistic. It appeared the author needed to write a certain amount of chapters, so filled in with MUCH repitition, and no substance.

Too Unrealistic

Waste of my money, Lori Foster does way way better than this, this was one of her worst by far!!!!!The story line is just too unrealistic

If There Was a No Star This Would Be It

The graphic sex would've been ok if there had actually been a plot to hold your interest - boring bordering on pornographic - and who could care for these idiots? It was so easy to figure out what was going on, what took them so long?

Smut

Typical smut with a fairly shallow story line. Entirely mindless. It didn't stretch my intellect at all!

low on story

If you are looking for detailed sex, this book is for you, if you are looking for an interesting story, don't bother. Story is missing, listened for just over half of the book before I gave up, ick!!
