Where does Carnal Innocence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I truly enjoyed listening to the book. It kept me guessing who the killer was right up to the end and it had a good twist.

OK, but predictable and no great shakes
The characters are by-the-book romance hero and heroine. You can see the "improbable" romance from a mile away. The heroine "grows" predictably, and tidily, by the end of the book. The other characters tend towards southern stereotypes. The murder mystery attempts a shocking twist, but I, at least, expected it. It was from the old "pick the least-likely suspect" school of writing. All in all, this is an OK read, a bit of storytelling to while away the time, but nothing memorable.

More Murder Mystery Than Romance
This story isn't bad for a murder mystery, however it falls short of being in the romance category. Violence, racial tension,infidelity and family melodramas are prevalent. The "romance" of the story is a mere sub-plot. If you're looking for heart warming connections, keep looking!
