Publisher's summary

Agatha Raisin has never been one for forced holiday cheer, but her friendly little village of Carsely has always prided itself on its traditional Christmas festivities. But this year the bells will not be ringing out, as Mr. John Sunday, an officer with the Cotswold Health and Safety Board, has chosen Christmas as the time to crack down on safety hazards all around the community. But he goes too far when he rules that there cannot be a Christmas tree atop the church tower this year.

Mr. Sunday is soon found face down in the petunias, very much dead. Agatha is instantly on the case, but with so many people having threatened the life of the victim, it's almost impossible to know where to start!

Great book!

Agatha returns from a dreadful holiday to a dreary Christmas village. No one is allowed to put up Christmas decorations due to a spiteful inspector. When he is murdered and subsequently another follows close behind, Agatha and her team of sleuths must find the murderer and see if the cases are connected. Sir Charles has a little surprise of his own in this book.

**Great narration. Glad Penelope Keith is back narrating.

Not my favorite

This book was good but a little too messy. Their were so many different, and often random seeming story lines that it got a little hard to follow.

MC Beaton always writes an entertaining story. Penelope Keith is the voice of Agatha Raisen. My favorite narrator for this series!

Difficult investigation

The murder of a particularly awful Health and Safety officer is quite difficult to investigate as it appears almost everyone wanted him dead. Agatha hires a new young detective to help perk Toni up. Agatha remains her irritating self.

Love this series

I love listening to this series, especially with this narrator. She does such a great job doing all the different voices! I found Agatha Raisin through the Acorn tv series but the books are even better!

Busy Body

What could possibly happen to a busy body? Ok murder but who would do that? A fun journey with lots of red herrings and engaging characters as usual!

Agatha is Agatha

Agatha Raisin does not disappoint. Yes, this is light fare, but Agatha helped by the agency, the Vicker's wife, Charles, Roy, and ex-husband James gallivant through the pages doing not quite what we expect of them. It is like a visit with old friends. Perhaps not as well plotted as some of the earlier novels.

Penelope should stay away from accents

excellent book and,for the most part, wonderful reader. however, her attempts at french, southern american, and afro-american accents were distracting.
