When terminally ill combat pilot Jake Bronson emerges from an MRI with extraordinary cognitive powers, everyone wants a piece of his talent - including Battista, one of the world's most dangerous terrorists. To save his love and her autistic child, Jake is thrust into a deadly chase that leads from the canals of Venice through Monte Carlo and finally to an ancient cavern in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan, where Jake discovers that his newfound talents carry a hidden price that threatens the entire human race.

An original weave of current events bound by colorful locations and cutting-edge technology, Bard's novel is a must-listen for fans of Michael Crichton, James Rollins, Clive Cussler, and Brad Thor. Acclaimed by fans of action, sci-fi, and political thrillers alike, Brainrush is one of the most innovative and entertaining books of the year.

Brainrush was in the top 10 of the Amazon - USA Top-Rated List for over four months straight. The sequel, Brainrush II, The Enemy of My Enemy, was released in December 2011 to rave reviews. Within a few weeks it became the number-one Top-Rated Action/Adventure stories on Amazon.

Critic reviews

" Brainrush explores the bonds of friendship while pushing the boundaries of science, creating a compelling, action-packed thriller with a climax that's a knock-out!" (C.J. Lyons, New York Times best-selling author)"A terrifically entertaining thriller with three finely executed set pieces strung together with nice characterization. Especially successful is Bronson, an amiable, low-key tough guy able to rescue his princess, survive brutality, and retain a sense of humor." ( Publishers Weekly)

Excellent Audiobook!

Would you consider the audio edition of BRAINRUSH, a Thriller to be better than the print version?

I would say that the Audiobook is better than the print version because the narrator, R.C. Bray, does an incredible job of bringing the characters to life. It's hard to believe all of the accents came from one person.

What other book might you compare BRAINRUSH, a Thriller to and why?

It's very hard to compare BRAINRUSH to other Thrillers because it has so many elements to it. So many Thrillers these days seem to be very generic, almost like the author is following a formula. Richard Bard does a great job of breaking the mold and creating a truly original Thriller.

Have you listened to any of R.C. Bray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard any other audiobooks narrated by R.C. Bray.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

BRAINRUSH definitely has both funny and sad aspects. Since one of the main themes of the book is terrorism, it is sure to elicit emotion from all who listen.

Any additional comments?

BRAINRUSH is one of the best and most original Thrillers I have read/listened to in a long time. I highly recommend it!

Action and adventure at a fast pace! Perfect.

This not a literary masterpiece, but if your looking for a good listen that's action filled and narrated well, this is a good book. I like the story and the characters. They blended well and the story moved fast. No fast forwarding on this one.
I definitely did not waste a credit on with this book.

Pretty good book

This is a pretty good book great story lune, lots of action and adventure, good guys and bad, and good guys that were bad. It was just hard to believe some of the things that kept happening...more than just good luck, against all odds time and time again. I enjoyed the story, just wished some of the things that happened in their favor weren't so often, that part was just unbelievable to me.

A new talent on the scene that matches the skill and depth of Dan Brown, Stephen King, Lee Child, David Baldacci, Bob Mayer, Tom Clancy and more....

Not quite there

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, not as an outstanding book but entertaining enough to pass the time. The author tried very hard to write a best seller but could have done more research and written in the light of current events. Relied on stereotypical characters but managed to add some intrigue. More research would have addressed the active war zone they flew through and given some plausibility as to how they came by an Osprey aircraft then overstretched with the mysticism of spinning pyramids etc. I would listen to/read later books by the author to see if he has improved.

I also felt that the many and varied accents were too much for the narrator

What three words best describe R. C. Bray’s voice?

Stretched beyond limits

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Neither
