I love reading or listening to Michael Connelly stories, and Dick Hill is by far my favorite narrator.

As usual, engaging story by a master mystery writer. When I'm frustrated by trying to figure out what to read next, I always can rely on squeezing a Michael Connelly book in.

Vintage Connelly Crime Fiction

4.5 of 5 Stars.

Having read most of both the Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer series, I would place Blood Work somewhere in the middle of Connelly’s novels. While Blood Work is an engaging story, I’ve found Connelly’s later novels are more sophisticated in plot and execution. Still, Blood Work is worth the read for fans of Detective fiction.

Dick Hill’s nuanced performance is excellent.

I’m a huge Michael Connelly fan. I pretty much have read all of his books. I recently stumbled upon Blood Work. Please no one tell Harry, but this may be my favorite Michael Connelly novel yet!

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Work to be better than the print version?

Yes, and I did picture Clint Eastwood as McCaleb. It read very well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is Terry McCaleb himself, of course. Because you're always with him, know what he's thinking, guessing his next moves. At times I felt like I was riding in the car with him on his chase for the evidence.

Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?

That would have to be Terry's sidekick, Buddy. He's irritating but also a good friend. The narrator portrayed him well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not read the Terry McCaleb books in series order so it gave me the background I was missing. I like him even more now.

This book has great characters and a very well written storyline. It gives twists and turns you never expect. Go ahead and give it a read or a listen. You won't be disappointed
