Great plot
Narrator paused and breathed loudly in strange spots and sometimes it announced new chapters while still finishing a sentence. Great story, very interesting and leaves you guessing. Once you predict correctly, you find that you have been misled. Would definitely recommend!

Audible issue?
I have to wonder if there was an audible issue with this book? The transition between chapters which is very quick and hard at times to realize that it switched. I find it hard to believe it was a David Chandler narration issue because he is one of my favorite. I specifically listen to this series just based on him being the narrator. So audible please look into this issue. The transition was terrible this is my reason for the four stars.

Another engaging Cork O’Connor storyline
This was my third Cork O’Connor mystery and fifth William Kent Krueger novel. I like his writing and weaving of Ojibwe, Catholic and Northern Minnesota environmental themes and I’m generally surprised when these “who dune it’s” come to conclusion. This was no exception.

Well written characters, but I liked the ending less than the previous 3 in the series, especially the villain. Did like the continuing development of the main characters and their relationships.
