Publisher's summary

From former Delta Force commander and New York Times bestselling author of Kill Bin Laden comes the first novel in an explosive new series

After September 11, 2001, Delta Force troop commander Dalton Fury was given the secret mission to hunt down and kill the most wanted man in the world, the details of which were recounted in his extraordinary New York Times best-seller Kill Bin Laden. Now, Fury draws upon his hard-won combat experience - and his gift for true-to-life storytelling - to offer a brand-new series of thrillers that are as close to reality as readers can get.

Meet Kolt Raynor. A Delta Force operator and one-time American hero, he is still trying to make sense of his life - and duty - after a secret mission gone bad. Three years ago, in the mountains of Pakistan, Raynor made a split-second decision to disobey orders - one that got some of his teammates killed and the rest captured. Now he’s been given a second chance to do right by his country, his men, and himself. But Raynor’s shot at redemption comes at a price.

A shadowy group of former colleagues has asked Raynor to return, alone, to Pakistan’s badlands. His assignment seems clear: find his missing men and bring them home. What Raynor never expected was to uncover a sinister al Qaeda plot to capture a Black Site - a secret U.S. prison - and destabilize the region. Meanwhile, a ruthless, unknown enemy is on his trail… and he will stop at nothing to make sure that Raynor’s mission is not accomplished. An intense, gritty work of edge-of-your-seat suspense, Black Site is the first of what promises to be one of the most exciting fiction series of the new millennium.

Great follow-up after Kill Bin Laden

Great book. Great Narrator. One of the best books I have read/listened to in quite a long time. Hoping this Author continues this series for quite a while.

Headed Towards Greatness

What an exciting new series. Stepping in to the world that surrounds us all is a new force to be reckoned with. Colt's mission is believable one. He gets into situations that are tense and escapes without to much help from the author. A very good listen and ready for the next.

Fast paced, high intensity, heart pounding!

What other book might you compare Black Site to and why?

Along the lines of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series - the main character is willing to break the rules to do what will best serve his country and take care of his friends

Any additional comments?

Fast paced, high intensity, heart pounding excitement! I love a good story about people in the military; stories of honor, courage and commitment. Dalton Fury’s Black Site definitely is that. The author is detailed in his descriptions of characters and situations. Dalton’s background in the military and Special Forces is evident as you read through his novel and can picture the decisions that are running through the mind of his leading man.

The reader is a good one for this – he has the strong steady voice to carry both the intensity of this story and the strength of character of Kolt Rainer. The author Dalton Fury is former Delta Force troop commander who lead the search for Bin Laden and author of Kill Bin Laden.

The characters and intensity of the volatile world of the Middle East keep your heart pounding as the minutes pass in this novel. Much like Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series – the reader becomes invested in the hero, holding your breath until you discover how the story unfolds. I could easily imagine following Colt for years as I have many other series based in the Special Forces, Black Ops, and CIA saving the world genre. I would recommend anyone who likes a strong military hero, flaws and all, to pick up this book and give it a read.

He Does It Right

Any additional comments?

I was a bit surprised to find out in the beginning that this author was a special forces trooper himself. I have tried to listen to other books either written by or with someone in special forces and I've usually found them written in language and with a certain gung ho attitude that really seems geared more towards those with military experience. This author is a great story teller that is interesting even for those of us with no previous connection to the military.

This story is multi level. Our hero has fallen because of a bad decision that resulted in his command all dying, and his best friend and a couple others either dying or captured trying to rescue them. He's given a chance to try to locate those captured men on what everyone, including himself considers a suicide mission. He's more than willing to put himself in harms way if it means he might be able to help rescue them.

The story is really a pretty good roller coaster ride with a lot of close calls. It kept me really alert while chewing up a lot of highway in my truck......I see he has two more in this series....I will be getting them because this guy can really write.

Spot on!

What an exciting and incredible thrill ride Dalton Fury takes us on. Very little time to catch your breath and realize what just happened here. Then it's pushing the characters into the next portion of the roller coaster ride. As a former member of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment I loved the realism of the attacks and description of the kills and near misses. Well done, beautifully described.

what I was looking for

I was late in finding this series but would highly recommend this book as an all out action with minimal vulgarity and no overt sexual activity. Non stop over the top and entertaining!

Bad boy

First intro to Kolt Raynor. Combined any Ninja, Sniper, Ranger, SEAL, have nothing on Ranger Kolt. Killing his enemy is an art form. Never read any Special Ops who kills with such talent.

awesome believeable fiction

Loved this book exciting , current and bold . The author and the narrator are a great matchup. The protagonist is a flawed character and not what we always see as a hero. Never the less we see our flawed person as brave, and patriotic with a love of his compatriots and the country. The writing is obviously done by a man with military experience. From the beginning to the end the storyline was edge of the seat exciting. Dalton Fury author and Ari Fliakos sound like fictional characters, but together they do awesome work. I will look for more audio books from these 2.
