Publisher's summary

From former Delta Force commander and New York Times bestselling author of Kill Bin Laden comes the first novel in an explosive new series

After September 11, 2001, Delta Force troop commander Dalton Fury was given the secret mission to hunt down and kill the most wanted man in the world, the details of which were recounted in his extraordinary New York Times best-seller Kill Bin Laden. Now, Fury draws upon his hard-won combat experience - and his gift for true-to-life storytelling - to offer a brand-new series of thrillers that are as close to reality as readers can get.

Meet Kolt Raynor. A Delta Force operator and one-time American hero, he is still trying to make sense of his life - and duty - after a secret mission gone bad. Three years ago, in the mountains of Pakistan, Raynor made a split-second decision to disobey orders - one that got some of his teammates killed and the rest captured. Now he’s been given a second chance to do right by his country, his men, and himself. But Raynor’s shot at redemption comes at a price.

A shadowy group of former colleagues has asked Raynor to return, alone, to Pakistan’s badlands. His assignment seems clear: find his missing men and bring them home. What Raynor never expected was to uncover a sinister al Qaeda plot to capture a Black Site - a secret U.S. prison - and destabilize the region. Meanwhile, a ruthless, unknown enemy is on his trail… and he will stop at nothing to make sure that Raynor’s mission is not accomplished. An intense, gritty work of edge-of-your-seat suspense, Black Site is the first of what promises to be one of the most exciting fiction series of the new millennium.

If you love action thrillers

I always enjoy a story by someone who had been there - done -that.
Lots of action without getting too technical. I can see this becoming a major box office hit.

An excellent story, very engaging, looking forward to the next book

What a great story!

Other than a few very small details like enunciation or how a particular word is said the narrator didn't excellent job.

I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Solid action. A great listen, despite being cheesy every now and then. Mitch Rapp esque...

Very authentic

Read a lot of books by former military officers, but none as accurate, credible, and believable as this. I have a new favorite author.

Great Book

Crushed it. Love hearing about “The Unit” even when it’s fiction. I think I’ll check out the other book

All the action, none of the politics

What did you love best about Black Site?

Having been a Special Forces Operator, Dalton Fury blurs the line between fiction and non-fiction. The action never lets you down and the story keeps the heart pumping. Where some similar authors delve too deep into politics, Fury touches upon the complications between the politically correct way to fight a war and the way wars are actually fought, but then gets right back into the action.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Black Site?

After I was done, I felt like I had been reading about Colt, T.J. and the Delta Force team as long as I have Mitch Rapp. I feel like the characters are based upon people I know from my time spent in

What does Ari Fliakos bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

Although he doesn't change the voices between characters as well as some of the best narrators, he does a great job relaying the urgency and attitude of the situation. Ari sounds like a

Hard to Separate It From Others

I've read several terrorist plots here lately, and they are all starting to sound the same. This one did not stand out. It was fast paced, lots of body count, but formula.

Not a waste of a credit, but not something I'd want to read again.

Simply Awesome

What did you love best about Black Site?

I purchased Black Site because I had listened to Kill Bin Laden. After going through the first few pages, and seeing the main character was a former SOF operator with an alcohol problem, I feared for the usual cliche honestly didn't expect the novel and plot to develop so well. It is incredibly very well written and it is believable to the reader. The fact that the author is a former Delta operator probably helped make the story sound realistic but Dalton Fury went beyond that: it didn't simply write something that feels realistic but a novel that extremely enjoyable and engaging!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously Kolt "Racer" Raynor! However, several other characters are well developed and likable.

What about Ari Fliakos’s performance did you like?

All I can say: the best narrator I have ever found on Audible. Calling him narrator is actually an understatement: he doesn't simply narrate, he acts the novel. He is a true voice talent!
No doubt without him, the novel wouldn't have been this enjoyable!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I usually don't have the time - and don't like - to listen to books in one sitting. If I could do it, this would certainly be the one I would do it with!

Any additional comments?

I found out the author sadly passed away. That he may rest in peace!

This is the first review I write on Audible and the only reason is only because I loved this book. I have no connection whatsoever neither with the book author nor the narrator!

Dalton Fury Changes Up the Thriller Game

Aftet listening to Black Site, I can safely say that the late Dalton Fury's debut novel is a necessity to your library. As a former member of the US Army's Tier 1 Special Missions Unit, Mr. Fury has a lot of authenticity driving this novel. Everything from the tactics to the plot feels real and likely plausible.
In addition, Kolt Raynor is a different take on the usual thriller hero. While he is a highly talented former Delta Force shooter, he isn't infallible. In fact, he makes quite a few mistakes that end up biting him later in. He also makes good use of his allies and support, instead of acting like a one man army. Such things aren't usually seen in the genre. So if you have time and are looking for a good read, check out this and many more titles from Dalton Fury.
