    "Excellent Characters and Storyline"

I have been going through this series in order and found this book to be one of my favorites. It allows us to see into the characters of the books even more. I love meeting friends from Rourke's past! This book had me guessing until the very end! Great read (or listen).

"Great series, fun fantasy, great characters"

I love the narrator of these books and can't understand why many don't like her. I notice in the next book the reviews complain about her change in reading style and I can't help but wonder if she read some of the reviews and decided to try something new. I have listened to them in order and have grown to love Eve and Roarke and Peabody and McNabb and all the rest. Susan Erickson if you read these reviews, just stick to your style. I love it and feel like I'm putting on a comfortable robe for a good escape into fantasy and adventure when I start a new Eve Dallas book.

    "J.D. Robb & Susan Ericksen a 5* recipe"
Would you listen to Betrayal in Death again? Why?

I am an avid reader so for me to purchase an audio of a book that I've read it has to be special. Betrayal In Death is another great audio. I have listened to J.D. Robb's in Death series multiple times and am still entertained by Susan Erickson's characterizations. Out of 44 in Death books with the 45th Calculated in Death due in Feb. 2013, I am rarely disappointed. This one's a keeper!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I have read all the in Death series multiple times and do purchase the unabridged audios of the most interesting reads, this one made the list. Betrayal in Death has a fast paced plot, with lots of investigative action and trademark Eve & Roarke byplay. With a surprising guest Robb gives us another treat into Roarke's interesting past. I love the supporting characters and Robb teases us with more Summerset/Eve interaction. The Feds get involved in this one and Eve kicks butt!

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Susan Erickson's interpretation of the text and characters is spot on, she keeps it believable. Erickson must have a multiple personality disorder because I could swear that they 'exist'. Erickson doesn't forget which character she is speaking for and stays within their personality. Great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Robb spent a great deal of time with the plot of this crime and it shows, I laughed and cried but to tell you why would spoil the story.

    Any additional comments?

Believe me when I say this audio would be a positive addition to the in Death fans and to those who are new to Robb a great start. If you need to judge my taste, some of my other in Death favs were: Survivor, Treachery, Kindred, Vengeance and New York to Dallas.

    "Yost"

Yost makes a great villain. He is a pro and it takes Eve and Roark to stop him. Magdalena's son is a true louse and all the really bad guys are so rotten.
Mick is the only exception because he remembers his loyalties. I realize his death was probably inevitable but hate it!

    "Good overall story"

As usual I enjoy the overall story that Nora Roberts or in this case her synonym J. D. Robb writes. However, it alway loses points with me because it's laced with so much sex and sexual innuendo. She has such wonderful story's I wish she would take a lesson from Clive Clussler and realize that her storytelling would actually be stronger without all the intimate details that I must fast forward through. I know her work is known for it but it would be so much better with out it. Otherwise the story is great and I enjoyed the suspense and excitement through out. I just wish there was a PG rated version of her books.

    "Another good plot"

All the same characters that we know and love. Another good story, I can never see the how and the who, despite having written so many they are all different and clever. Keep it up! X

    "The Tempestuous Tribute"
Would you consider the audio edition of Betrayal in Death to be better than the print version?

    NEVER!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

For this one, Mick and McNabb. It was refreshing to finally have him spew his passion for Peabody. MICK! He brought the best I have seen of Roarke thus far. Better yet to come I'm sure.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The bribe of Jamaican rum hits home with me but I must say when Mick was stabbed. I sat gaping. Not often any development has me reacting like that

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, most of the early dialogue between Eve and Roarke was humorous - refreshing

    Any additional comments?

As always a treat to listen to and a welcome spruce to an otherwise mindless day

"Another good J D Robb book"
Where does Betrayal in Death rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I thoroughly enjoy the J D Robb book series, and they are ones I'll either read and/or listen to first.

What did you like best about this story?

As with all the books in this series, there are plots, twists and turns. The ending is going to be the same, but the getting to the end is excellent.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Susan Ericksen brings the voice to the books; I don't know of another narrator that be as good as she is with this series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    No.
