The best Anne Perry yet!

A mystery with more questions the further you listen to the story. Every character has a secret, has a reason to be suspect yet the final five minutes had me sitting in the driveway to hear the conclusion. Never saw it coming!!

Surprise ending!

Loved the descriptions of the scenes & events. Ending caught me off guard. Well narrated

I as always enjoyed! the reading was excellent and the topics covered of honor, truth and unselfishness along with horrible secrets...makes this story a great read!

It had me guessing till the end

Fantastic twist development. It had me guessing almost till the end.

Ultimately, a very good book

This started out a bit slow, with what seemed like too much detail about the social mores if the time, but after a while, I realized they were integral to the story and the characters, if only to showcase how stultifying and defining they were to the people’s lives—especially women. The mystery took a few twists and turns and ended satisfactily, with a … but I will leave it here so as not to gove anything away.

Davina Porter is awesome. Enough said.
