Publisher's summary

When Joe Ledger and Echo Team rescue a group of American college kids held hostage in Iran, the Iranian government then asks them to help find six nuclear bombs planted in the Mideast oil fields. These stolen WMDs will lead Joe and Echo Team into hidden vaults of forbidden knowledge, mass-murder, betrayal, and a brotherhood of genetically-engineered killers with a thirst for blood.

Accompanied by the beautiful assassin called Violin, Joe follows a series of clues to find the Book of Shadows, which contains a horrifying truth that threatens to shatter his entire worldview. They say the truth will set you free… Not this time. The secrets of the Assassin’s Code will set the world ablaze.

Great book and superb performance by Ray Porter

Any additional comments?

The story was good but Ray Porter made it great. He has several characters and his inflexions are on the mark.

Hero Crushes all around

Where does Assassin's Code rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Assassin's Code is an excellent example of its genre. I can't decide who I have the biggest crush on: Joe Ledger, Ray Porter, or Jonathan Maberry.

What did you like best about this story?

I trust Jonathan Maberry as a storyteller four books into this series. Only he could pull off vampires and nuclear weapons in the same book. Bravo!

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Oh my gosh, Ray Porter is amazing!!!!! So many accents, so many languages and each one distinct. I almost always forget this is just one person talking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, but my extreme reaction was FEAR. Maberry puts his characters through the wringer time and time again. Having a dog in the mix gives me extra worries.

Any additional comments?

Joe Ledger has the right balance of "damaged hero" and "All American tough guy."

Maberry does not disappoint.

I love how Joe Ledger, as screwed up as he is, still has heart. Go Joe!!!

Keep up the work!

Great book and a great series

I was pleasantly surprised with this addition to this great series. Been following the author for the last couple years; most of his stuff is great. The only thing I'm not a fan of with him or this book or the series is the humor. Other than that five stars all the way.

AWESOME and just a BIT scared.

Amazing writing. I loved it. Can’t wait to read the next one. Thanks for all the avengers. I love how Jonathan Mayberry can help me escape into his books. Your books means so much.

Thank you, Shannon McGinnis

Joe at it again.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I tell all my friends about the Joe Ledger series

What was one of the most memorable moments of Assassin's Code?

The Magic of Mr. Maberry is that every moment is memorable. It never gets stale

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, ALL of Mr. Potters performances make the story alive. #1 in my book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Vampires in the real world, and with nukes? You've got to be kidding!

Any additional comments?

Like I said before, the Joe Ledger series has sucked me in. I own every book!

Another Great Listen!

If you liked the other Joe Ledger books than this one will not disappoint. Fast paced with a bit of supernatural mystery and Joe's mouthy commentary. Lots of fight scenes like the previous books and some old and new characters. Listened to it in two days while doing some mundane tasks. It kept me quite entertained and I had a hard time putting it down when I needed to actually concentrate on something.
