Fun read with good mystery

Well another Walt Longmire book completed. And once again it gets 5 stars across the board. I just love all the characters in these books, That is because of the great character development. If you don't care about a character why read anymore books in the series.

We will continue reading and listening to these stories

Another good one

I love these Sheriff Longmire books. The narrator is very calming and soothing even in the face of murders. I love Longmire’s relationship with the Indian chief and the people. Great read.

Love this series! Great characters and reader!

Would you listen to As the Crow Flies again? Why?

I will definitely listen to this and all of the Longmire series again. Craig Johnson gives us wonderful characters with savvy and humor, then George Guidall brings them to life. Finishing the latest book in the series has left me feeling like my best friends have gone on a long trip and I can't wait for them to get back

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I sometimes have a suspect in mind - and sometimes it is the right one, but I never really know until the last minute. There are always plot twists that I don't expect.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love audio books in general because they make the book come more alive for me. George Guidall is an exceptionally fine reader. His voices leave no doubt as to which character is talking and each voice is rich and fits perfectly with the character it portrays.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

If you love Westerns, you'll love this one.

Loved it

Liked the new character Lolo Long! Also liked that I wasn't sure "who done it" until the end. George Guidall is amazing in his narration.

Let it never end!

I just love Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series. It is such an enjoyable story and George Guidall is perfect as Walt and the other characters. "As the Crow Flies" is another enthralling story, the characters are so vivid and the mystery is astounding. Not until the very end do you realize what is happening. This novel is more touching than most simply because of the relationship between Walt and his daughter - the marriage scene is brilliant. Oh my! Father and daughter - just lovely.
This is a must read.
Please Craig Johnson, keep the Walt Longmire stories coming.

The Best Longmire Story Yet!

I make no excuses regarding my gushing ardor for Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire stories and must report that according to my sensibilities, this one is the best story yet! These aren't "Westerns" by any measure, just stories of a wonderfully lovable sheriff in a western states setting.

There was very little violence in this one sans the opening fall from a cliff by the murder victim; Walt uses his intellect and ability to relate to people to solve the mystery. Along the way he nurtures and mentors a would-be native American police chief and struggles with his emotions regarding his own family. It is a great story where love and familial bonds both go wrong and right.

I enjoyed it immensely. After all, who wouldn't love a contemporary set-in-Wyoming crime drama that ends in a wedding?

Any additional comments?

I almost didn't bother reviewing this book because it is simply another wonderful story told in wonderful fashion. Not much more to say!
if you are already a Longmire fan you will love it; if you have not read any Longmire stories: go back to number 1 and catch up; you won't be disappointed.
