Another hit

I love the interaction between Standing Bear and Walt and this story gives lots of that. George Guidall speaks it all perfectly , he is such a perfect voice for this. My only complaint is that women are relegated to being beautiful, but not capable. Craig can not seem to allow a female character depth beyond the role of sexy and smart ass, and that gets tedious. Lola Long could have been somebody powerful - a missed opportunity here.

Love it!

Where does As the Crow Flies rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

Craig Johnson's books are some of my all-time favorites! And the series on A&E, "Longmire," looks promising too.

What about George Guidall???s performance did you like?

George is my favorite male narrator of all. The ???Cat Who" series, with his narrarion, and the Tony Hillerman books,.... Very special and memorable. Sexy voice!

Complex but worth it

Complex tale with overlapping plot lines and lots of characters.
The marriage of Longmire's daughter is woven through the story and leads to one of the most emotional scenes in any of the Longmire stories I have read.
One of his best!

Another Great Longmire Saga

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I catch myself laughing out loud at the light hearted banter between Walt and his best friend Henry Standing Bear. George Guidall’s narration is second to none.

Love Walt Longmire series

Would you consider the audio edition of As the Crow Flies to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

I very much enjoy listening to George Guidall perform, regardless of the author. In this book I like Henry Standing Bear and Walt's voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I love the whole Walt Longmire series

One of the better Longmire books

I enjoy all the Longmire books and go to them when I need a change of pace. In this one we get to see a lot of Walt and Henry trying to plan for Walt's daughter's wedding and of course nothing is going right. They see a woman fall from a cliff and are pulled into the investigation even though it happened on the reservation. Walt ends up giving sheriff lessons to the new tribal chief. There's more action in this one than some of the others and not quite as much storytelling.

So if you're wanting a nice relaxing listen, plus a murder mystery with lots of twists and turns, this would be a good one to try.

As always I couldn't picture anyone else doing the narration.

Another winner in the Walt Longmire series

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Guidall is one of my favorite narrators. He is a perfect choice for the Longmire books. His pacing, his voices, and his subtle dramatic flair add enormous value to the books he reads.

Any additional comments?

Not my favorite book in the Walt Longmire series, but still an enjoyable experience.

Another solid entry in the series

Walt is trying to organize his daughter's wedding while also solving a murder. As always, the local details and the native magical realism blend into the story. I am usually turned off by the paranormal in books, but Walt is such a down-to-earth character that even inexplicable experiences ring true. I love the interplay between the characters, and I laughed practically nonstop for the first minutes as Walt, Vic, and Henry try to reason with the tribal leader in their own ways. George Guidall as always is perfect, I won't even consider a print version.

The best Longmire book to date!

I am a big fan of the Craig Johnson books, and like the wit, the characters, and the narration of each one. This one stands above the others in my opinion. I replayed parts just to relish the interactions and clever conversations.
