another great listen from Johnson and Guidall

Even when they are bit off peak performance the Walt Longmire series are great stories, head and shoulders above most other books published each year. Just like Chinese food, when you are finished with one book you savor and recall the meal, then start looking for the next feast.

Excellent! Only Craig Johnson can bring together.

Excellent! Only Craig Johnson can bring together... Walt's adventures as Sheriff from Durant, his outstanding relationship with the Cheyenne Nation and a 7 foot Indian. His
extraordinary personal and military experiences with the Vietnamese people from the late 60's during the Vietnam War and bring it all together for an excellent read and adventure. I really enjoyed the first four books in your Longmire Series. Continued success in all that you do! Rp

Another great Longmire book!!

If you could sum up Another Man's Moccasins in three words, what would they be?

Great character development! By this fourth installment I was already so hooked on this series that I can't stop listening, but I really loved reading about Walt and Henry's history in the war. The flashback's are very revealing about the history, motivation and predudices of otherwise strong, silent type characters.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

George Guidall is a fantastic narrator. He has given such a distinct voice to these characters!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So far, and this has been true of every Walt Longmire book I've read/listened to, the epilogue has left me in tears...every time.

Any additional comments?

Craig Johnson is a great writer and George Guidall is the perfect narrator for these stories, which I highly recommend! Once you start you won't be able to stop listening!

Tet in the Shadow of the Tetons

Okay, so actually the #Bighornmountains are the dominant range that looks over the fictional #wyoming county of #absaroka where Sheriff #waltlongmire and his ever expanding police force patrolling a few small towns on the border of the #cheyenne reservation where so many characters in the #longmireseries call home..

in this, the #fourthbook in the series brings memories of Walt and his best friend #henrystandingbear of their time serving in Vietnam, where Walt cut his law enforcement teeth as a #marinecorps #provostmarshall criminal investigator. These memories are resurrected as Walt investigates the death of a young #vietnamese girl where a war damaged member of the #crownation, himself a military veteran, at the center of investigation in a state where Vietnamese people are few and far between. This book broaches the uncomfortable discussion on racism, prejudice and stereotyping where characters confront their own perceived biases.

Book Five is downloaded as I never tire of hearing #georgeguidall read this #craigjohnsonseries. #readtheworld #readtheworldchallenge #globalreadingchallenge #americanwestern #cowboyliterature #cowboymystery

Unexpected but quite good

Never tought to connect Sheriff Walt Longmire and Vietnam. But the story was quite good, interesting, and fit the cast of characters.I had been reading this series in random order and had read quite ahead of this book number four. It filled in lots of background and I recommend it.

There is no such thing as too much Longmire!

If you haven't met Walt Longmire and the other inhabitants of his little piece of Wyoming, introduce yourself with this or any of his mysteries. You'll be glad you did.

This book backfills Longmire's past while showing us once again why he continues to be the best modern Western sheriff.

Writer keeps getting better -

This writer just keeps getting better - and the narrator is fantastic. In my head, George Guidall's voice will forever be Sheriff Longmire - just as Will Patton will forever be Dave Robisheaux . . . the highest praise I can think to give.

Not as good as first two

But still good. Loved the Vietnam flashbacks! I like the characters becoming more fleshed out too

Another great tale

As always Walt, Henry Standing Bear, Katie, Vic and the gang provide larger than life, believeable and entertaining characters in a plot as twisty as a pretzel. Great read, and great to listen to as the narration is always "spot on."
