Publisher's summary

An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive - and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous - that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

Another great book

Another great listen from Connelly. The narrator fits better in reading suspense movie trailers, but still a good book.

Oh that voice!

It took me over half the book to get over the fact that it sounded like the entire book was taking place between transformers. I literally looked it up to see if this narrator was the voice for Optimus Prime.

Great Story

This is my favorite Bosch story so far. I miss Dick Hill, but the narrator did a good job. Recommend it.

monotone

The story was great. However, this was the worst audio performance I have ever heard. the reader is monotone and has terrible cadence in his delivery. I will not listen to another performance by this performer.

Deeply depressing

Great story as always. I did not like the narrator much. There was little difference in his delivery of any noted expression. Bosch's universe is depressing. His reactions are over the top. Still you love him.

Great story - narrator is not Dick Hill

Enjoyed all the Bosch series audiobooks. Michael Connelly is an intriguing writer and keeps the reader/listener enthralled throughout the entire story. I was, however, disappointed in the narration of the story. I felt that the previous narrators acted in their narration making the story so much more enjoyable. This narrator is strictly reading the story line and was placing incorrect emphasis in the different portions of the dialogues making the reality of the dialogues appear fake.
Overall it was a great story

Good story. Only mediocre naration

If you could sum up Angels Flight in three words, what would they be?

Good story

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I have read other reviews and they were pretty hard on the narrator. He wasn't that bad as Harry, but I found him to be lacking on the other characters. Did not do a good job on Jerry Edgar, in my opinion

Best Bosch book so far

Up the speed by one and the narration is just fine. It's way to slow and dramatic otherwise. Great story line and ending.
