Publisher's summary

In the fourth audiobook in the New York Times best-selling series, Marine sniper Kyle Swanson finds himself in the sights of a man he once idolized - a true American hero turned traitor.

Swanson and his beautiful girlfriend, CIA agent Lauren Carson, are on a mission in Pakistan when their world is turned inside out. Kyle is captured and thrown in prison. Lauren is accused of being a double agent. The one person they trust to help is the man who sent them on the black operation - Jim Hall, a legendary CIA agent, Kyle's sniper mentor, and Lauren's boss and former lover. But Hall has gone rogue. He is selling America's innermost secrets to a ruthless Pakistani warlord who wants to mold al-Qaeda into a legitimate political party and secure a nuclear arsenal.

For Jim Hall, his former protégé, Swanson, is the final obstacle. Success or failure pivots on whether Swanson can stop the old friend who trained him to be a shooter. From the streets of Washington to the Bavarian Alps, the two snipers stalk each other in a deadly hunt that has only one possible outcome.

Terrific, simply terrific!!

An Act of Treason is my first Jack Coughlin novel, bur it certainly will not be my last. Everyone who has an appreciation for great thrillers should read this book.

Great Series, Great Characters, Well Written

First, the story line teaser from the jacket isn't accurate, but then what else is new? As with the previous novels in this series we see the unflappable Swanson always thinking moves ahead, he is a talented survivor. There are interesting twists, surprises and the characters aren't cliche. The pace is fast making it difficult to stop listening because you want to hear what happens next. Totally enjoyable action series with good story lines and characters. Luke Daniels does a wonderful job narrating.

Wow Wow Wow

All four books in this series keep you in suspense and leave you wanting more. The realism is incredible and the main character is not impervious to injuries and capture like many other series' characters.

I hope this storyline continues with many more books. Like the Mitch Rapp series, I'm hooked.

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with their purchase of this novel.

Miles to go before I rest!

This is the best book of the series to date. The characters come alive, the story line is exciting, the human compassion (a new addition) is inserted in a great way. The consequences of action are shown graphically through the story, the villains are portrayed very well, and their brutality will catch you off guard.
Really enjoyed this one ... More to the book than just another terrorist book!

Really?

I can’t believe I fell for the positive reviews on Luke Daniels. This guy needs to be doing voice work on cartoons. Maybe it’s because I’m spoiled by the likes of George Guidall, Ray Porter, or Dick Hill. The story itself is pretty good but the narration takes away from it.

Female character is terrible

The female character was terrible to listen to. And the romantic interest and speed of “love” was worse than a chick flick. And I’m a woman. I enjoy listening to series more than once, and this is one I gladly skip over when re-listening to this series.

I liked the story. I’m just not into the sappy stuff that the author includes. It just doesn’t match up with how I perceive Kyle Swanson.

Like Daniela’s is awesome as always.

Once again better than the last.

Storytelling continues to improve. I thought I had chosen a weak series after the first book. Glad I stuck with it.

Keeps getting better!

Jacks first Kyle Swanson book certainly wasn’t perfect, but was good enough that I got into the series. Each one is better and this one downright excellent. Nice work!

why fake a death?

I've read the 1st two books in the series & enjoyed them. But the entire premise of this book was the CIA shooter 'died' only for him to tell the CIA he isn't dead? While lopping off a finger for DNA to prove his death? Lost me right there.
