My husband & I have listened to a number of the Scarpetta novels & this was 1 of my favorites! Plenty of mystery, but not so much gore as in later books. An excellent book to listen to on a long journey.

Excellent level of excitement throughout
Patricia delivers a consistent level of intrigue, suspense and story connection that keeps the reader interested. She opens up likes of thought for the reader to try and break the case themselves where possible. The performance adds to the interest in the story.

Felt like a mini series on HBO hehehe
Loved finding a book based in Richmond. Yeehaw baby. Great story, good depth, and a cheap thrill that didn’t feel like such. I listened to this on a whim, and I can say that anyone could easily be entertained from this story. Ok and what a juicy ending. Holy meow meow. That took me off guard. This whole book is juicy drama and I’m here for more.

SCARPETTA BOOK AT IT'S BEST
This book was very good, but then all the Scarpetta novels are good. They all have such twists and turns. Sometimes I do wonder though, about how all these weirdos get to her! ;o)
