Escaping from a madman should have been the end of her nightmare. Instead it was only the beginning....
Lizzy Gardner was just 17 when she was kidnapped by the psychopath known as Spiderman, a serial killer terrorizing her California hometown. Imprisoned and tormented for months, Lizzy narrowly escaped with her life and Spiderman vanished without a trace. But if she thought he would forget her, she was dead wrong.
Fourteen years later, Lizzy is a successful private investigator and self-defense instructor. Wracked with guilt over being the only victim to survive, she's devoted her life to helping others protect themselves from the horrors she endured. But a single phone call brings the terror of the past crashing back. Spiderman has returned and this time, he has no intention of letting Lizzy go. So begins a chilling game of cat-and-mouse, a terrifying, heart-pounding hunt for vengeance that only one will survive.

Married "mom" of 3 crazy dogs and 1 cat! I developed a love for reading just after college & only recently for audio. Loving it so far!
The story is good... I didn't want to like Lizzy, but I did. I also think the ending was clever.... Karma!
It was interesting & I liked the idea of it! Some of the thoughts came out of no where, but it is just a story - for entertainment purposes, so it doesn't really have to be logical.
The narrator almost RUINED this for me!! More than once I wanted to turn it off!! Her hard pronunciation of "TO" made it almost unbearable!! Other times, her narration makes a tense moment almost seem silly. She is either too sickeningly sweet sounding or robotic! My curiosity (the reason I like mysteries) about the ending is what made me continue listening. If I had the e-book along with this book, I would have stopped listening and started reading, but I only have the audio for this one, so I finished it. I found myself wondering if this was her first narration....
I gasped aloud once or twice.
My main complaint is that the author seemed to run out of cliches and repeated them over and over.... "for the record" for example!! I think it was repeated about 8 times in the first half of the book! It got on my nerves. I did enjoy this book - and in the end, I bought the next two - even with the same narrator. I hope she gets better with each book.
I really enjoyed this book. It made you want to keep reading because there was so much action and so much going on! I recommend this for everyone!
This book was outstanding! I can usually figure out killer quickly! I found myself taking notes and keeping track! Great characters and no moments when I thought the story was dragging!!! I will read this whole series!
This woman can tell a story so detailed you can feel the damn spiders crawling on your skin. If you are looking for a one day..can't. put down thriller..this is it! The narrator was awesome too!
Books are a big part of my life. Happiness is a beautiful evening on the houseboat with a good book :)
I enjoyed the characters in this book. Some parts were a bit gruesome. Overall a nicely paced and believable tale. Not quite a 5 but more than a 4 star.
