Escaping from a madman should have been the end of her nightmare. Instead it was only the beginning....
Lizzy Gardner was just 17 when she was kidnapped by the psychopath known as Spiderman, a serial killer terrorizing her California hometown. Imprisoned and tormented for months, Lizzy narrowly escaped with her life and Spiderman vanished without a trace. But if she thought he would forget her, she was dead wrong.
Fourteen years later, Lizzy is a successful private investigator and self-defense instructor. Wracked with guilt over being the only victim to survive, she's devoted her life to helping others protect themselves from the horrors she endured. But a single phone call brings the terror of the past crashing back. Spiderman has returned and this time, he has no intention of letting Lizzy go. So begins a chilling game of cat-and-mouse, a terrifying, heart-pounding hunt for vengeance that only one will survive.

Love to read and when i'm busy I'll take an audiobook.
The story develops with such intense that you can't turn it off. Keeps you guessing until the very end.
This story caught me off guard. It is well written with lots and twist and turns. Vivid imagery helps to create a book I couldn't wait to finish.
Loved the story and became quite anxious in several spots. Did not like the narrators voices for various characters. Had the story not been so intriguing I would have ditched the book because of the narration.
Starting on Book 2 tonight.
This was the first Ragan book I've listened to. I enjoyed the book but nothing that stands out as an exceptional book. I will definitely try the next book in the series.
I found this story full of suspense and interesting characters. If you look at the story for what it is - a fun read - you won't be disappointed. This isn't classic, complex literature. It's a character driven story. Lizzy is someone you'd like to get to know better which is why I've already purchased the second book in the series.
knitter, weaver, spinner
I have heard Kate Rudd's narration on other stories. I think she has talent, but is better suited to Y.A. books than adult books. As for T.A. Ragan, I can so clearly see how these characters could be worked into a really good series... but there are so many mistakes and cliches in this book that I don't know if I am willing to waste anymore credits.
Not at all. I like suspense novels and have enjoyed a great number of them.
Ms. Rudd was not the right narrator for this book. She is very expressive, but her voice is much more suited to Y.A. books.
The characters were all important to the story. They just were not very well written.
SPIDERS ARE NOT INSECTS!!!! DUH!
HELD MY ATTENTION THE WHOLE TIME. GREAT THRILLER. GOOD NARRATOR
LISTENING TO THE REST OF HER SERIES NOW
SHE DID A GOOD JOB ON ALL OF THEM, BUT I LOVE THAT HALEY. SHE IS ONE TUFF YOUNG LADY.
