Great Start

This feels like a great start to a great series. The main character is very likeable right away and the story sucked me in. This is a very easy breezy read with a nice twist... Perfect for summer reading!

Would you listen to Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye again? Why?

I hadn't heard of Victoria Laurie before listening to this, the first in the Psychic Eye series, and it was such a gem to find.

Since this book, I've listened to a lot more in the series, or read them in ebook format. Love this series, but this, the first, is my favourite!

What other book might you compare Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye to and why?

The Charley Davidson "Grave" series by Darynda Jones - like the Psychic Eye, these books have a funny female investigator with supernatural or special powers.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Michaels – was your favorite?

Abby, for sure - but this is probably because she is the first-person narrator of the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was so funny, and very light, and entertaining. It was just what I needed to pick me up at that time.

Any additional comments?

If you feel like a nice, light listen, with a funny narrator who has a knack for sticky situations, and a sexy potential love interest in the FBI, and if you don't mind laughing out loud when listening in public, get this book.

first time

This a good book, it kept my interest whereas any others just put me to sleep :)
love this writer we live in the same neighborhood so that added to my being interested in her.. I was even born in the building (used to be a hospital) she has her office in LOL. !!

Light Fun read

Any additional comments?

This was a good story line as long as you keep it in context. I enjoyed the story and the narrator did a good job with telling the story. I will follow the series and see how this goes.

Great Mystery with Appealing Characters

Where does Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This one ranks up with the highest. I really enjoyed it.

What did you like best about this story?

Abigail is so clever. I found her saying things that you want her to say. She is independant yet not hardened. She is able to take care of herself but inspires others to care about her. I like her gumption.

What does Elizabeth Michaels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoyed her voice. It helped me picture the main character and she did well on the others as well. She seemed to have as much fun reading the book as I had listening to it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the scene with Abigail and her sister - just ordinary sister stuff. Then Abigail starts a reading for Kat out of the blue and Kat runs to get a book to write down what she is saying. She apparently puts great trust in her sister's abilities.

Any additional comments?

I would never go to a psychic myself and I would not recommend others to do it. But the character is enjoyable and I put this in a good read catagory.

Cute Story, Bad Audio

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It is worth the time, but the issue is not only is the audio talent less than spectacular, the audio quality is really bad at times. The narrator sounded like she was under water at times.

The story was fun and entertaining. I will buy the next book, simply because I like the character.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator spoke much too quickly a lot of the time. Her voice was a bit annoying, but I didn't mind it as much as some of the reviewers. My main complaint is the quality of the audio - I have listened to hundreds of books and never heard this type of problem. I am starting book two and found that it has the same issue.

Was Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye worth the listening time?

Yes.

Interesting story but narrator didn't fit character

Liked story, but dialogue was very dated and reminded me of my great grandparents dialogue and narrator's voice was more of a witty grandmother than a young single person and didn't fit character's age in story. However, because i liked the story i finished it. Slang and "figures of speech" could use an update to current trends and a younger sounding narrator would significantly improve the listener's experience.

I plan on listening to the entire series. It is perfect for my ride home from work, which lasts about an hour.

Abby Cooper was an enjoyable character

I especially enjoyed the narrator. Very pleasant to listen to her narration.

Friendly neighborhood clairvoyant

This book was suspenseful, yet fun. I love Abby's spunk and how independent she is. It was cute but nailbiting at times.

Entertaining

What made the experience of listening to Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye the most enjoyable?

I liked the story line--I'm into psychic/paranormal fiction. This was a fun, light read and I enjoyed it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It ended well--the protagonist acted quite stupidly with the villain, however, I suppose she had to in order for those climactic dangerous moments to occur.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Michaels – was your favorite?

Dutch.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nah. It was just fun.
