Publisher's summary

We predict amazing success for this brand-new mystery series starring Psychic Abby Cooper.

Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients - or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.

Really disappointing narrator

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the story line and may even buy the next in the series. But the narration was one of the worst I've heard. I've been listening to audio books for many years and most narrators can act the voices of the characters. And although it may be difficult for a man to read as a woman or vice versa most narrators carry it off extremely well. Elizabeth Michaels is most likely the worst narrator I've heard. Her voices vary little, making it difficult to understand who is speaking. And the fact that she can't read a question from a character without carrying the questioning inflection into the rest (unquoted) portion of the sentence, to me, is a sign of an amateur. I'm debating whether to purchase the next in the series. I was hoping the narrator would have changed but it looks like Ms Michaels is the narrator for the entire series. I may try one more to see if she got any better.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Elizabeth Michaels?

I've enjoyed CJ Critt,

Not an ordinary girl

Abby Cooper has a unique ability to read people, but not all the time and not always when she needs the info. She has had this ability all her life, but one day a trance medium comes into her bank job and gives her a message -- from beyond the grave. She soon changes jobs and becomes a self employed psychic reader. Her life quickly gets complicated and she has drawn the attention of the local police. Love, mystery, danger and her spirit guides keep Victoria Laurie's cute "psychic eye" series hopping with tension and laughter.

Clean

I purchased this book mainly as a listen for my granddaughter. I have enjoyed it so much, that I will continue with the series. It is clean, funny, and easy to listen to. We need more books like this for the in between years of young teens.

Fun Listen

I enjoyed this audio book quite a bit.

There were several several amusing asides that helped to keep the story upbeat as well as expanding the characterization. The main character is endearing and relate-able. The plot has a good pace, too. It moves forward fast enough to keep the reader's attention and not so fast as to trivialize the important points.

The story does use the foreshadowing method of "If I had realized then...", which I find fairly distracting. It's used less than half a dozen times, though, so not too bad.

The mystery aspect is nicely done. It's nothing so difficult as to keep you from figuring out the basic idea of who done it, but the exact details needed are withheld to the very end. I found it a bit simple, but not distractingly so.

I found the narration to be very good. The narrator has a slightly airy, very relaxed tone, which I find suits Abby extremely well.

This is a very good, fun listen. The characters are great. If you enjoy books like the Stephanie Plum series or Undead (Betsy the Vampire Queen) series, you will almost definitely enjoy this book

She got me hooked!

I purchased this book at the try-a-new-series sale. I am really partial to books in a series. This is a delightful book on its own, but I think if you give it a listen, you will want the ones that follow it, as well. They can be read out of order, but the relationships and her business do develop, so I recommend reading them in order. Abby Cooper is delightful. The humor in the story is well placed and pertinent to the story line. Her intuition and her predicaments are interesting and just a bit surprising. The plot is unpredictable enough to make me sorry that the story ended.

Found a new series

I really liked this one, enough have already got the next one ready to go. Is enough to want to stay in the truck to finish insteady of going into work or the house. Fresh goes along with the way I like my authors. Have bought several of her other books for my daughter.

Entertaining

This was entertaining and I would probably order another book in the series if the price was right.

Easy Listening... :)

I really enjoyed this first book in this series. I'm a big Stephany Plum fan. I think if you like her, you'll like this. I thought the narration was fine. Enjoy!
