The discovery of two teenage girls' bodies and a video of a snuff movie showing the death of one of the victims leaves Detective Inspector Jack Frost in a race against time before the killer can strike again.

Meanwhile, someone is poisoning foodstuffs at a local supermarket chain. When the owner receives threatening demands to pay up or be put out of business, it is up to Frost to catch the blackmailer. As all leads dry up and Frost faces questions over the handling of the cases, he faces a threat to his professional life with the arrival of DCI Skinner at Denton Police Station. Superb

Jack Frost is one of the best characters in a crime novel I've read. The author has given his book just the right touch of wry humor along with a great story line. I hope there's more to come from this author.

Dark but funny and fun.

Jack Frost is, as far as I can tell, sui generis. He's apparently not handsome, he's a messy guy, he's not appreciated by his superiors, his intelect is downplayed, his relationships with subordinates is understated, and all sorts of other characteristics that are not found elsewhere. His humor is handled well and the humor is a relief from most mysteries. More from this author, please.

Looking forward to the his next book

Great characters and good pace to the action. Narration grew on me and fit the book. The end was slightly disappointing. Maybe I had too high of expectations given that I loved the first 90% of the book and was waiting for a big climax to tie it all together. In the end, the book was more about Frost the detective rather than a singular plot. You must like sarcasm though to enjoy the book and it has a heavy English feel with the jargon used. Would strongly recommend.

Great Frost book

Having read the entire Frost series by R.D. Wingfield and seen many of the episodes of the Frost BBC series, I found this audiobook a great addition.

The characters are well-rounded and thoughtfully described. Completely in the genre of police procedural in Britain and a great listen. You are pulled into Frost's many dilemmas and urge him to pull it out. Wingfield writes this story keeping to Frost's character, where luck or the lack of it and his innate detective ability, creates a great, enthralling story. Frost adds a touch of reality and human failing to the British detective that I find refreshing and charming.

I only wish there were more Frost books on audible.

Excellent

This is just absolutely amazing I've heard the audiobook several times over and over and still want more. The sense of humor of Jack Frost is really hilarious, and I especially like the voice of the narrator, Stephen Thorne. I hope the author R.D Wingfield releases a sequel to this because it's just really amazing. Very good work Mr. Wingfield and beautiful narration Mr. Throne, I think you for making this part of my life as it has made happy.

I'd like to see more by this author/series

My opinion is with the majority. I enjoyed this book. I loved the British humor. It was refreshing to have a murder mystery without the main character being in and surviving some fantastic and unbelievable situation. Though the murders were brutal the violence wasn't a major part of the book. I'd love to listen to another of the Frost mysteries.

Fantastic!

Another great book by R D Wingfield - plenty of suspense and more of that great Inspector Frost Bristish sense of humour. I've listened to this one many times

Good book

A little different than I thought, but it was good. Alot of english humor, but it was ok.
I would recommend it. Even with the humor it was a mystery.

Excellent story, well narrated

Where does A Killing Frost rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A Killing Frost is one the of the best audiobooks I have listened to.

Any additional comments?

Stephen Thorne differentiates between the character's voices well. He has a clear voice and is able to bring out the emotion behind the words.

This is a great Frost novel, well worth a listen.

A Very Good Read

An English mystery told with an English accent. What else could you ask for? The story keeps you listening and awaiting for what will happen next. I liked this so much I went to my local Barnes & Noble to see if I could find any of the authors other books. I bought it during a discount special not knowing what to expect and I am very happy that I did.
