"A Sweet Treat With A Side of Murder"

This is a wholesome classic cozy, a collection of 6 "mini mysteries." They move pretty quickly but you still get a full mystery experience in each book and get to play along with the whodunit. The main characters are Tara, Stormi & Paige, and you get to know the supporting characters well throughout the books (Sam, Brandon, Trixie, etc).
You might be wondering, "how does this small town have 6 quick back to back murders? How does this series pull that off?" This was my initial question too, but alas it doesn't feel that way at all. There are 6 Books, and for example one book isnt really a murder mystery, but rather a discovery of a sketchy past of one character. Another book is a reopening of an old case, and another only has an attempted murder etc. So there is a great balance here where each Book is different and brings something different to the table. It does not feel redundant in the least.
Overall it is an easy listen, and an enjoyable one at that! If you are a fan of cozies you will enjoy this series.

    "Melting Moments"

Ahhh! Six delightful melting moments though not all of them about 'murder', but all were well written mysteries played out in a small town and involving a bunch of very good friends who of course solve the crimes.
Most enjoyable and I'm quite happy to listen/read any of Constance Barker's other books as I've enjoyed 2 different series of hers so far.
The narration was a pleasure to listen to too.

    "Brandon needs a new voice"

Over all I would say the stories were "okay"

What really grated on me was 1) Brandon's voice. I had a really hard time imagining him with Tara. Well, really with any female under 60. Old Charlie sounded better than he did. He was suppose to be good looking but with that voice, I couldn't see it and 2) Sam's voice was not that of a teen ager. At least not in my book and I live with 4 of them. She sounded more like a 1-800-Phone Me voice

While I realize all towns and cities have personal lives I purchased the set with murder mysteries in mind. They were all mysteries but not what I was hoping for

Still, the stories were pretty okay

This was a great series of murder mysteries. I really enjoyed how the author brought the characters and settings to life. The narrator was great was well, easy to understand.

    "Cute"
Would you try another book from Constance Barker and/or Angel Clark?

Yes to Constance, no to Angel-very nasally & annoying

If you’ve listened to books by Constance Barker before, how does this one compare?

    Not applicable

How could the performance have been better?

Another voice over. Angel's voice is too high pitched and annoying.

Do you think A Frozen Scoop of Murder: The Bundle Edition, Books 1-6 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No, mystery solved.

    "Fun Book!"
    Any additional comments?

    Great Book!
This is a great book; this is a great set with books one through six in the A Frozen Scoop of Murder Mystery series written by Constance Barker and narrated by Angel Clark. This is great boxed set, when I started listening to it I didn’t want to stop until the end. These stories are set around the cozy, quiet town of Caesars Creek, Georgia. Tara, Stormi, and Page put their sleuthing skills to the test trying to solve the murders and mysteries is each of these books.

The narrator Angel Clark did a great job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a fun cozy mystery with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

    "Fun Little Short Stories"

    Spoilers ahead:

This wasn't anything groundbreaking or mind blowing but I don't think they were meant to be. The characters were great and the more stories I read the more I liked the little detective group. I was a little worried that the love aspect was going to be thrown into every story but luckily it was light and playful. I'd definitely get more. The only thing I disliked about the stories is that it was less of a mystery and more, I don't know, linear. Sometimes the bad guy turned out to be someone who wasn't quite introduced yet or something like that. I'd like it more along the lines of: put all the pieces together to have that "Ah ha!" moment but anyway - the stories were really enjoyable and I'd definitely pick up more of their work.

"Two scoops short of a sundae."
Where does A Frozen Scoop of Murder: The Bundle Edition, Books 1-6 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Out of all my books I have read/listened to, these six were meh. I was expecting more "mysteries" and twists. Book 1 and 2 were pretty decent and were self-contained but book 3 through 6 each had their own "mystery" but flowed into each other. I don't even know what the twist/mystery of book six even was.

Would you be willing to try another book from Constance Barker? Why or why not?

Maybe, Book 6 just ends after giving us some answers and opening new questions. But, I do not know if I really care if I get those answers.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

My biggest grip about the performance was when I first started listening to the book. I listen typically at 1.25x speed and this made the narrator sound like the Microsoft Female Screen Reader Voice. At first this was slightly jarring but I got past it.
The narrator does do a good job of distinguishing characters and her southern accent for them were pretty good as well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know, "something something Ice Cream"?

    Any additional comments?

These are not the typically type of stories that I read/listen to so keep that in mind. It's not bad, just not wanting me to really read more.
