Publisher's summary
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • THE BLOCKBUSTER JACK REACHER SERIES THAT INSPIRED TWO MAJOR MOTION PICTURES AND THE STREAMING SERIES REACHER
“Reacher gets better and better. . . . [This is the] craftiest and most highly evolved of Lee Child’s electrifying Reacher books.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times
A bus crashes in a savage snowstorm and lands Jack Reacher in the middle of a deadly confrontation. In nearby Bolton, South Dakota, one brave woman is standing up for justice in a small town threatened by sinister forces. If she’s going to live long enough to testify, she’ll need help. Because a killer is coming to Bolton, a coldly proficient assassin who never misses.
Reacher’s original plan was to keep on moving. But the next 61 hours will change everything. The secrets are deadlier and his enemies are stronger than he could have guessed—but so is the woman he’ll risk his life to save.

Story
Reacher wakes up, alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a bed in a makeshift hospital room. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there. The last thing he can recall is the car he had hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. The people who staged the attack assume Reacher was the driver's accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk. A plan that will backfire spectacularly.

Story
From the Stone Age to the Greek Tragedies, from Shakespeare to Robin Hood, we have always had our heroes. The hero is at the centre of formative myths in every culture and persists to this day in world-conquering books, films and TV shows. But why do these characters continue to inspire us, and why are they so central to storytelling? Scalpel-sharp on the roots of storytelling and enlightening on the history and science of myth, The Hero is essential listening for anyone trying to write or understand fiction.

A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company. A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

I surely hope this wasn't the end
I looked forward to the arrival of this book for a long time. I wasn't disappointed at all; hard driving Jack None Reacher puts it all on the line once again. Therefore, I will wait to see where Reacher pops-up next.

Disappointing Ending
I am a huge Jack Reacher fan and always will be. I am disappointed with Mr. Hill's decision to end the story in the manner in which he did. However, it doesn't take away from an exciting and provocative story - it just seemed a bit abrupt and hanging.

61 hours
This is one of the best Reacher stories I have read. Lots of suspense and action. Learned more about Reacher than in the other books. Dick Hill is great in his reading of this story. I was surprised by the ending and can not wait for the next book. Hope there is one!

Likable Enough
This is my first Reacher book. It's not a great book, but I liked it well enough.
Reacher is of course, superhuman, but then, many sleuths are. Like other reviewers, I figured out who the villain is a long time before the characters do. It didn't really affect my liking of the book.
The narrator does an excellent job. His voicing of the various characters distinguishes one from the other, and he has good pacing and develops tension well.
Will I read another Reacher book? Maybe not. But I'm not sorry I read this one and don't feel that I wasted a credit.

I've not only read but listened to all of the Jack Reacher Novels. Dick Hill is the best narrator ever and Child's Reacher novels are a great listen, it keeps you engaged. We all need hero's and Jack Reacher is the guy we all wish we knew. Enjoy, I highly recommend all of this series.

Needed a military advisor
So, the author should have had a good military advisor. At one point it says that a character was busted from Major to Captain which would only be possible if it was a battlefield promotion which in the time frame this was set wouldn't have happened. Otherwise the story flows quite well and brings you along fairly well. I liked the narrator though the production should have been turned up a bit for volume.

On-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense
The countdown from 61 hours till the event throughout the book keeps the suspense constantly building. Fast paced with turns and twists throughout. There are several surprises. I would recommend this book if you like to be held on the edge of your seat.

Another Good Listen!
I am such a fan of this series and the narration by Dick Hill. This audible book was not a waste of a credit but It did leave me with the "huh" factor... thought it was predictable and the ending was weird.
