Publisher's summary

24 Hours begins with the perfect family...on the perfect day...about to become trapped in the perfect crime.

Will Jennings is a successful young doctor in Jackson, Mississippi, with his whole life ahead of him. He has a thriving practice, a beautiful wife, and a young daughter he loves beyond measure.

But Will and his family are being watched by a con man and psychopath. A man who has crafted the unbeatable crime. A man who has never been caught, and whose victims have never talked to the police. A man whose life's work strikes at the heart of every family's nightmare: the unstoppable kidnapping.

But this man has never met Will and Karen Jennings.

First-rate book and world class narrator

When two lines intersect - a Greg Iles book and Dick Hill as narrator, it's pretty much a no-brainer. I grew to appreciate Dick Hill after he took over narrating Lee Childs' Jack Reacher franchise. He's an incomparable talent and it's less a book than an action thriller coming through my Bluetooth headset at the gym, in the car and elsewhere. The plotting and characters are so well drawn and distinct and the pacing so relentless that I began hoarding my listening time. Translation: I never listened when I was tired or even distracted because I didn't want to miss any nuance in any of the narrative. This is one lousy review, for one great book!

Nonstop

This was an interesting book and a quick listen. I enjoyed the interplay with the characters. While many might criticize the ending as unbelievable, come on...it's all unbelievable:-). It was worth the credit!

Damn good!

Riveting from the first chapter. Being from Mississippi, it’s even better. He uses subdivisions that are real and other areas of the state that anyone from the state will recognize it. Makes it truly “hit home,” so to speak. Great book. All of his so far are incredible.

Decent story but …

Story was ok. The narrator’s own voice was fine but the voices he used for women and children we so horrid and whiny I almost quit listening. It was a shorter book so I kept up.

Excellent read!

Mary Ellen must be smoking something something if she thinks this one wasn't good. This was an excellent book. Action packed from the first page through the last one. Well worth one credit.
