Publisher's summary

Eizo Tanya is now living a quiet life as a blacksmith in another world. Well, maybe not so quiet...

Tales of his cheat-smithing abilities and overpowered blades have started to spread. Alongside his companions, Eizo tries to earn a modest living while avoiding political intrigue. However, intrigue finds him anyway when he saves Diana, the daughter of a comital family. With the nobility embroiled in conflict about the line of succession and the fate of a family heirloom, the safest place for Diana turns out to be with Eizo. As his family keeps growing, the quiet life becomes even more rare.

Speaking of rare, Eizo's next commission involves working with a prized fantasy metal—mithril! When an elven village requests that he repair their treasure, a mithril sword, Eizo is excited to take on the challenge. Will this blade be too much for a human blacksmith to handle? Eizo puts his cheats to the test, repairing both swords and societal conflicts, all in pursuit of his dream life!

Enjoyable story and slow world building

I enjoy that the Mc has realistic views and goals set and isn’t pulling some bs outa no where he understands that he doesn’t truly know what he’s doing only how to do it with muscle memory and the “cheats and code” of the magic system and knowledge

Loved it

I liked the manga for a long time. The light novels were hard to find reliably so this was fantastic.

The awesome world building

The only thing to dislike is that the book isn't longer. can't wait to hear the other volumes.

Really Good, better than the manga

I love the extra side stories and extra narrative thoughts Aizo has. The Manga doesn't give you these insights. So I look forward to these more.

Much better than my expectations

when I first saw the title and description I did not have high expectations. I'm now into the second book and I'm hooked. No raunchiness, which was a relief. just good, clean storytelling of a compelling story. I can't wait to continue listening to the series.

It's enjoyable, though I have a few concerns

First off, I rather enjoy relaxed slice-of-life stories and this series fits that bill perfectly. However, the author has a uncomfortable tendency to depict child-coded characters as adults.

The phrase 'They looked childlike, but had a mature air' or 'Was actually a grown woman despite her childlike appearance," both show up as descriptions of characters and races. Not to mention the fact that one of the characters is Five Years Old, but with the physical development of a Twenty Five year old, is not a good look to say the least - no matter how often these tropes tend to show up in light novels, manga, anime, etc.

The saving grace is that these characters aren't sexualized in any way and the story is generally light-hearted and wholesome. It's a fun and generally relaxing experience and the VA does a great job.

Cute and fun

Slice of life that has some aspects of harem but also seems kind of innocent.

A good series that I really enjoyed!

The hero just wants to be left alone and maintain a low stress lifestyle. When trouble finds him he doesn’t think his efforts are of of any Heroic Level. But everything he does just proves how mighty he is! Story keeps you entertained and looking for the next episode!
