Kristiana’s father has a gambling problem. After a particularly bad hand of cards puts their family’s land in jeopardy, her dad’s solution is to call her billionaire ex, but Kris can't bring herself to beg him for money. At least, not her first time seeing him in 10 years. Instead, she withdraws her life savings and bets on herself.

Thankfully, it pays off! She and her most promising horse win big at the Down Royal steeplechase in Ireland, but only because the best horse on the track wasn’t ridden properly. Luckily, it’s just enough to grant a stay of execution with the bank.

It would have been, but when Kris realizes her nemesis is abusing the gorgeous black stallion who should have won, she can’t help herself. She spends her winnings buying the horse she fell for the moment she saw him. It may not be the smartest move in the short run, but Obsidian Devil's her best hope of finally digging out from under the massive debt hanging over them. She’ll have to ask her ex to help with the next payment, but seeing him again won't be so bad.

So awesome!

Such a great read, I loved the entire thing. Can’t wait for more! Learning about Latvia, the horse aspects and the rest made it such a good story. I expected some spicy scenes but it was still good without them.

A wonderful read

While this story has suspense, I love that it didn’t have the same but wrenching dreams that many romance novels have. Sometimes you want something with substance that lighthearted and fun. This is a must for horse lovers and romance fans. I thoroughly enjoyed it

I really like this book! I enjoyed the fact that this appears to be written by someone who actually has been in the horse world and not just read about it. There is not much bad to say about it :)

spice level 1, but a great tale of a girl falling in love! really good pacing.

She's a bit stupid.

The author should have put a bit more intelligence into the Female lead. What woman doesn't realize when a man is giving her Diamonds, Rubies, and Emeralds? The performance of the narrator is the best part of the story. I hope the book in the series is better.

So glad I purchased

So, I originally purchased this book due to a story of a family trying to save their horse, come hell or high-water and the book proceeds helping that cause. I had no idea I would fall inlove with the characters! I am so glad that I purchased this book and as soon as I finish this review I will be starting the next book in the series!

great start to a new series

cute story high sexual tension without sexual content. kept you engaged the whole time can't wait for the next book. it did leave unanswered ? that I can't ask without spoiling book

Great novel about a different kind of Horse!

This book hooked me in the first few chapters. As a horse owner I was Not expecting this plot. It's not your normal experience of horses! I loved it ♡
