A Powerful American Dream Story
This beautiful memoir is a reminder of how our past informs our present, that life isn’t always fair, but how enduring hardship with grace and courage can build character, faith and ultimate flourishing. This is one of the most inspiring books I have read. Justice Thomas’ honest, uncomplicated narrative draws the reader into the complex characters who shaped his beliefs, choices, and destiny. The delight of hearing Justice Thomas’ story in his own voice made this listen an extra special treat.

Clearly the Greatest story ever told!
I have read countless books in my life, preferring mostly to read historical and biographical accounts. I do not exaggerate when I say this is one of the most significant books of my lifetime. I am into my sixties and have never written a review of a book. This book warrants the attempt. Clarence Thomas’ story should be mandatory reading for all people.

Very inspirational
I truly can relate to his life story I grew up with my grandparents in a the exact situation. My grandfather and grandmother adopted me before I was even born and my grandfather was exactly like Justice Thomas grandfather. As a black American, I can understand his point of view. Growing up in the 80s and watching the feature the Justice influence me to do better for myself.
