Publisher's summary

Frank Malloy has never known any life other than that of a cop, but his newfound inheritance threatens his position within his department. While trying to keep both his relationship with Sarah and his fortune under wraps, he' s assigned to a new case - finding a missing young woman for her worried father, Henry Livingston. It seems the girl had been responding to "lonely hearts" ads in the paper for months before she disappeared. Her father thinks that she's eloped with a deceptive stranger, but Malloy fears the worst, knowing that the grifters who place such ads often do much more than simply abscond with their victims. But as Sarah and Malloy delve deeper into a twisted plot targeting the city' s single women, it' s their partnership - both professional and private - that winds up in the greatest peril.

Frank and Sarah are moving ahead, I love it!

I’m so glad Frank and Sarah are moving ahead with their relationship!

I found that the way the author dealt with Frank’s mother however was too easy. After all the harrumphing and constant negative attitude, this turn around in her character was a little hard to believe. Either the author felt like she painted the character into a corner and just decided to pull a 180, or something is brewing that we’ll see in future instalments!

I can’t wait to find out.

Another winner

It's not just facebook.
So timely and so upsetting as we are told about how social media (newspaper lonely hearts ads) trapped women into sexual slavery in Victorian times.
At the same time Malloy and Sarah's relationship moves ahead with the potential blending of family and homes. Well paced, well told, well narrated. Looking forward to the next episode as things are set up for Malloy and Sarah to now be openly working together.

doesn't disappoint

a nice next step in the development of characters. and I enjoyed that this one was focused on the middle class and not the Knickerbockers.

Wow

This one was a tough one and as the author said at the end mirrors events of today.

Frank and Sarah are trying to make plans for the future but a lot gets in the way. Great narration and storyline

The Saga Continues

What did you love best about Murder in Murray Hill?

The characters age and progress....or at least they seem to....

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes .... the writing is very good. Nice plot development.

What about Suzanne Toren’s performance did you like?

I like the voices except for the little girl's voice and I thought that the male lead was Irish...I hear no hint of an accent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes...like a book you cannot put down.

Any additional comments?

I have liked all of this line of books so far.

Not the best in the series.

I have been reading the series for several years and this is the first I've listened to on audio. The story itself was pretty good, if not quite up to par with others in the series. The narration was just OK. The female characters were performed well, but the male characters not so much. The male lead in particular. All I could see when I heard him was Krusty the Klown. Not good.

Getting just desserts!

What horrible villains! It was bad enough that they lied to young lonely women looking for love, but what happened to them afterward is heart rending. 3 cheers to Mrs Brandt and Malloy!

SOOOOO not a cozy mystery!

Nothing like the other books in this series! Had I have know it was about a sexual predator...I probably would have passed on this. No clue while the author felt it was necessary for the series to turn so dark.
