Entertaining cozy mystery

Both the author Christa Nardi and narrator Alyssa Baumann are new to me and I am surprised I have not come across this author, in particular before. I enjoy cozy mysteries and Murder At Cold Creek College was an entertaining story that ticked the boxes for me.

Alyssa Baumann did a great job bringing the cast of characters to life for me and certainly added to my listening pleasure. This was a book filled with a number of unexpected situations and although I guessed the guilty parties, it was an entertaining journey.

The characters were engaging, perhaps because Sheridan is a mature woman in her forties and I found her easy to relate to. There were twists, turns and surprises in Murder At Cold Creek College as Sheridan and Brett follow the clues.

I cannot wait to listen to more books from this author.

The Start Of The Series

This was the first book in the "Cold Creek Mysteries" series, and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked that the author has written characters that seemed like they could be real people. The protagonist, Sheridan Hendley, was an intelligent and strong person who became active in a police investigation. It was great that the author featured a heroine who was in her 40's and I appreciated the old-fashioned values that were portrayed in this tale. Alyssa Baumann's narration was fine. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Wonderful start to the series!

Murder at Cold Creek College is the first book of the Cold Creek mystery series by Christa Nardi. In this book Dr Sheridan Hendley makes her premiere. A fellow professor is killed the week before the semester starts. Sheridan is pushed into the investigation when she’s asked to escort the State Police Detective around by her department chair. That inevitably leads to trouble for Sheridan but they do solve the crime. I’ve read the Sheridan spin-off series and it was good to go back to the beginning. I enjoyed learning a lot about Sheridan’s background and her meeting Brett. Great fun cozy! The narration by Alyssa Baumann is wonderful. Her performance brings the story and characters to life. I received a free copy of the audiobook for my honest review.

Enjoyable listen

Good story and character development. Didn't figure out the killer ahead of time. Looking forward to book two.

This story was so greatly planned out and a fantastic mystery. It was good to listen to how it all began with Sheridan and Brett!

Enjoyable

After a few other mysteries that were just awful, this one was enjoyable. I liked the writing and enjoyed the narrator. And I liked that the killer and the motive were unknown til almost the end

twists and turns

So many possible perpetrators of this crime that I lost count!!!! Adam was a practiced philanderer, who seemed to fly under the radar of many- even colleagues. I was dumbfounded when the reveal came in the story. This had so many twists and webs of deceit and cover ups of what really happened and why. I'm still processing it all. This was a great mystery that kept me intrigued and interested. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

A great book & a stellar narration

It started out a bit slow but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot was interesting & kept me intrigued as to what would happen next. The narrator has a nice & pleasant voice and did a great job with this book.

Murder At Cold Creek College is Excellent!

This is the first book in the Cold Creek Mystery Series & I enjoyed it very much! The narrator, Alyssa Baumann did an excellent job. She brings the characters to life.

I never write about the story itself as many do because I don't want to give anything away & there's no sense repeating the synopsis. But if you're a cozy mystery fan or a fan of books that aren't filled with f bombs & other foul language or sexually explicit descriptions, then you can't go wrong with any book written by Christa Nardi. She is an excellent writer & all her books are very entertaining. I'm already looking forward to the next book! I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review & I look forward to listening to more books by both the narrator & the author.
