Publisher's summary

He was the CIA’s most deadly secret weapon. Now he is the world’s most wanted man.

"King sits alongside Rapp, Reacher, and Harvath as my favorite action-thriller heroes."

Elite counterterrorism operator Alexander King is on a mission in Mexico City when a surprise is left for him in the trunk of his car. The contents will change his life forever, and may very well end his legendary run with the CIA.

King’s entire career has been about saving others. This time it will take everything he’s got just to save himself.

If you couldn't put down Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Brad Thor's Scot Harvath, or David Baldacci's Will Robie, fans of Bradley Wright believe you won't be able to put down the addictive Alexander King.

Good book, good narrator BUT

Sorry to do this. Good story, characters, etc. Good narration - pacing, characterizations, accents. However: narrator mispronounces the town name Barrow, Alaska, which is said dozens of times, as “borrow”. Does no one check out narration before releasing the audiobook? And fwiw in the next book in the series he pronounces the French cities of Nice and Cannes as “Neecy” and “Cans.” This nearly ruins the experience. It’s a credit to the overall quality that I stuck with.

OUTFREAKINGSTANDING

I’ve listened to more than 100 books on Audible and have some favorite narrators, but Jarret Lemaster just took the top spot. I’m not sure he’d be the best for Mitch Rapp or Scot Harvath, but I wouldn’t mind hearing him give either a go. That said, I can’t imagine a more perfect narrator for this series.

Bradley Wright did an excellent job writing the book as well without which the narration wouldn’t have come through the way it did. So if you like the Mitch Rapp or Scot Harvath series’ I HIGHLY suggest you give these a listen. They won’t disappoint!

End to End Action

Not a lot of fill in, political and philosophical preaching. Lots of action, short dialogues and a climax worth the read! Loved this book.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Series

If you Reacher style characters, you'll love this action-packed series.
Jarrett Lemaster does an outstanding narration, giving each character their own voice. Sam is a great sassy character.

Great, fast moving story line

Escapism, which is what I like, and well written. Unpredictable ending, another plus. The narrator does a great job.

Love this narrator.

The story is great but I have to compliment the narrator, Jarett Lemaster. His style of narration is excellent for this type of novel, his accents are spot on and his interpretation of the characters gives them a distinction that makes them unique.
