Those with families

Best minimalism book I’ve read discussing families and children! Easy to follow and offers ideas on how to become more minimalist with a family.

Good but dated

Its very good but some items are dates.

Some things she says though are just not true for everyone or at all now days.

But she does provoke thought. Id just love for it to be more suggestive and less of an order. The information is good but the tone isn't

Great book, robot narrator

Was really excited about this book since it’s specifically for families but the narrator, my goodness, was really dull and sounded very robotic for some reason 🥴

Thank your things for the purpose for which they served you and allow them to move on

Or something like that. Haha. I really enjoyed this listen. It was a great merriment between practicality, science and storytelling. I didn’t agree with everything but the author continuously emphasized do what works for you and constantly gave alternatives. Overall I felt like it gave some great tangibles such as What do you want to keep? instead of what do you want to give away? And the concept of the cost of things being the price of the time and enjoyment they take from you. Ill be referencing again and using these guidelines to better my family. To minimalism!

Family friendly

This book is great if you have a family, or not. I kids and a hubby that isn’t that much into minimalism , so almost every minimalist idea wasn’t so “family friendly” this one teaches you how to deal with small kids and teens! And how to approach your not so minimalist partner. Recommend it

Great support for newbies to minimalism!

This was a great motivator to start my minimalism journey. The narrative is broken into easy to understand sections that you can read through or stop and start to declutter along the way. Plus the narration is very calming!
