Wow!

I’ve always wanted to read this book, but I found it so thick and difficult to comprehend. This audio is the real deal. I can sense the narrator knows this information and helps me to find understanding.

Spiritual adventure

A man with an ancient soul, unshakable aim, stupendous resourcefulness & creativity tells a portion of his story. Lucky are those who hear, no less understand, the meaning of the words ‘non- identification’ or ‘self remembering’ Mr. Gurdjieff mentions. The conscious souls he sought out & encountered were inspiring.
Mr. Blake’s narration gave me pause at the beginning. However, the pitch & gravity of his voice won me over. There were occasions when lack of emphasis on a word deprived the sentence of its potential meaning & impact. Overall it was excellent.

Powerful story.

In my early 20s, I was inducted into a functioning group studying the work of Gurdjeiff. We were under the tutelage of one of G’s students from the UK. The group focused on the movements discussed in the book, along with meetings of subgroups that were something like psychological encounters, and spent much time growing food, building, tearing down, and rebuilding our properties in Los Angeles, While trying to remember ourselves, as G instructed. I read the book at the time, and enjoyed it, immensely, along with his other works, but was very disappointed in the movie. This narration is very true to the form of the book and I could hear G speaking through the narrator. Highly recommended if you are interested in this work, which his student Ouspensky termed ‘the fourth way’.
