Freedom for everyone - Human and Alien!

After a spaceship crashes on Earth, Q, a telepathic alien, is imprisoned and eventually escapes from Area 51. Q eventually meets Mel along the way and a friendship is formed, showing that humans and aliens really aren't so different.

The author, Chris Baum, has the listener join the journey of Q. As the story progresses, Baum nicely transitions Q's primary focus of survival and avoiding capture to traveling all the way to Washington D.C., to advocate for freedom for himself and other aliens also in hiding from authorities.

The narrator, Richard Travis, does an excellent job acting out the dialogues between characters, and performing character voices for each character encountered in the story. Travis narrates in a clear voice, and the audio quality is excellent.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

Magnificent!

I hope you enjoy listening to this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. I was originally going to make this story part of a collection of other stories (an anthology or collage of short fiction stories) but felt it was strong enough and deserved to stand alone. It certainly is powerful enough as a stand-alone novella, That being said, I shaped it to become the prequel to my first novel, Surrender, which also has a Sasquatch (Bigfoot) as one of the central characters among others.

Kudos to the narrator, Richard Travis! I feel he did an amazing job at producing the audio, altering his voice for each character and using his equipment in his recording studio to add other sounds to make it more entertaining for the listener. This has been a great experience, and I have full intentions of having Surrender transformed into an audiobook in the not too distant future. Enjoy the journey!

An Area 51 Alien Goes to Washington

Kind of a fun little story about an alien body snatcher who escapes incarceration in Area 51 and heads off on a cross country adventure which lands him in Washington just in time to fight evil and save the world. It's a little heavy-handed in it's religious overtones but that may have been the point.
Anyway, It was short and worth the listening time.

Fast Paced Fun... Fantastic Narration

This was a fast paced, short Sci Fi book with strong religious themes ("Inspirational" is a euphemism for Religious Fiction in this case).

Richard Travis could read a grocery list and get a 5 star review in my opinion... he has an EPIC narration style and totally kept me committed to listening, despite not being a fan of religious fiction in general. His character voices are fantastic, and his dialogue is believable and well-paced.

The characters in the story are intriguing, especially the main character Q., who has a nice character arc. Chris Baum's strength is humor, which I felt came across very well in the first half of the book and tapered off a bit as the drama picked up. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending of this story, which accounts for the 4 star rating.

Overall, I would recommend this book to friends who are looking for a great listen full of humor and spiritual hope.

Magnificent: A Novella

I was quite engaged in the first part of the book, but in the last I was easily distracted. The concept and characters were interesting, so I’m not sure where my disconnect was.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
