Publisher's summary

A Horus Heresy Anthology.

The Horus Heresy is an epic conflict spanning hundreds of worlds and thousands of battles, laced with countless tales of heroism and valour, betrayal and villainy. This anthology collects some of the most memorable, featuring every one of the Loyalist and Traitor Legions.

Listen to it because....

Whether you're a veteran Legionary or exploring the grim setting of the Horus Heresy for the first time, this handpicked collection of 21 existing short stories features gripping tales for each of the Loyalist and Traitor Legions that waged wars of betrayal and destruction on an immeasurable scale.

Description:

Never has the Imperium known a weapon as deadly as the massed might of a Space Marine Legion. Together, these mighty warriors form an unbreakable spear at the fore of the Great Crusade. Together, they quest to reclaim humanity's birthright – its dominion over the stars. Each Legion is led by a legendary primarch, and the greatest among them is Horus Lupercal, Warmaster of the Imperium. Yet at the height of his power, this beloved son betrayed his oaths, taking half his brothers with him into damnation.

Condemned to an eternity of war, the galaxy burns as loyal Space Marine Legions and their traitorous kin tear apart everything they bled to build. This anthology collects over 20 existing stories from a variety of authors, featuring every one of the Space Marine Legions and ranging from the Unification Wars to the most brutal days of the Age of Darkness.

New Warhammer Lore Hounds Start Here!

I am new to Warhammer and loved the YouTube lore videos I saw and read every best of list to figure out where to start and I can say after months of searching THIS is the Warhammer I found interest in to begin with!
The opening story is a perfect badass encapsulation of everything I love about W40k so far. Absolutely worth all the credits!!!

A lot of good story across the legions

If I could change one thing it would be to make it more clear which legion each story focused on.

A great compilation

#1 - The Last Church - Time to give up the ghost! This had a very satisfying OME moment.
#2 - Savage Weapons - The Dark Angels pursue the Night Lords, far from Terra, and Robot Girlyman's self-righteous ambition becomes known.
#3 - Imperfect - Fulgrim and Ferrus play a game of regicide, so much foreshadowing.
#4 - The Iron Within - The obvious choice isn't always obvious, or easy to make.
#5 - Black Oculus - Too short to write a legit review!! This was a Navigator's account.
#6 - Brotherhood of the Moon - Ah, the comraderie and rivalry between the White Scars and Luna Wolves.
#7 - Bjorn: Lone Wolf - Yeah, yeah...the badassery of the Space Dogs 🙄
#8 - Bloodhowl - Dammit...this made me gain a bit of respect for the hypocritical Space Dogs 😖 Finally!! They question what they did to Prospero!! 😭
#9 - Champion of Oaths - Can never learn or train enough.
#10 - Child of Night - OMG they are pure nightmare fuel 😬 Dang elitist creepy space emo-goths.
#11 - Lost Sons - 😭😭😭 Sanguinius!!!
#12 - Immortal Duty - Anything surrounding Istvaan V is depressing. Former brothers in arms on opposite sides, betrayal.
#13 - After Desh'ea - Not sure if this is the first or one of the first meetings, but wholesome bonding moment 🥰
#14 - The Laurel of Defiance - An okay listen about the Space Smurfs 🤷‍♀️🥱
#15 - Daemonoly - I really need to read more about Mortarion and the Death Guard. This was interesting.
#16 - Rebirth - Love anything to do with the Thousand Sons and this was quite insightful to post destruction of Prospero.
#17 - Little Horus - Little Horus Aximand, and his inner thoughts...
#18 - Child of Chaos - Ooooooh Erebus has competition 😲
#19 - Artefacts - I think I may be in the minority of readers/listeners who find everything about the Salamanders boring, except when Kurze is involved 😉
#20 - The Grey Raven - Oooh loved this! Never knew just how much of a badass Malcador really was until such a comparison is made.
#21 - Liar's Due - Seriously, what a scary situation, to be just a nobody human. Need to fins more like this.

Pretty good 👍

Some of these stories are essential knowledge, others are just some good "popcorn" entertainment 👌

listen for a grasp and taste of the 18 Legions

You will get more than what you paid for and if you're uncertain of starting the horus heresy, you can literally start here to grasp the piece of the atmosphere and lore
