Not just a work of art, but a work of LOVE!
Dr. Sealy-Ruiz opens by saying “I write to free and heal myself” and yet after listening to her poems, you will feel inspired and ready to look at your own life and experiences from a reflective lens. Through her vulnerability, Dr. Sealy-Ruiz connects to her listeners where everyone can relate to the full range of emotions connected to love.
As she invites us into these relationships of her past, we are challenged to analyze our own relationships and past loves. This is not just a work of art, but a work of love! Although several relationships are discussed, the message of self-love, self-discovery and self-reflection are strong and timely.
Dr. Sealy-Ruiz’s narration in combination with the fitting background music has taken her book to the next level. This was a delight to listen to and I look forward to more from Dr. Sealy-Ruiz!

A work of art that keeps on giving
In her beautiful book of poetry, Dr. Sealey-Ruiz opened up her heart and poured forth from it verbal nectar. As she reflected on six past relationships, she invited readers to explore the value of the connections in our lives, past and present, and to be happy to have known love - and that which lies in its shadow.
A wordsmith with a big soul, Yolie has now created this spoken word version that is absolutely a joy to listen to!
