Publisher's summary

Rocky N'Guwe thought tennis would be the hardest thing he'd have to learn at Palm Gables Tennis Academy. But the young jackal finds himself navigating a new culture as well as his own sexuality and the volatile relationships of any high school, all while keeping himself focused on the professional career that will allow him to rescue his sister from an undesirable marriage back home.

And looming in his future is Palm Gables alum and rising tennis star Braden Longacre, an abrasive cross fox whose path keeps crossing Rocky's no matter how much the jackal tries to avoid him....

The first novel in a new series by Kyell Gold, with artwork by Rukis.

Great story brought to life!

I was disappointed that it just ended. I’m not sure if it’s meant for the listener to come their own conclusions, or if there is a “Part two,” but I’m going to look for it.

Also, I really enjoyed the story. Kyell is an excellent writer, and Jeremy really brings the characters to life!

Good shit

It just hits different. I started listening to this right after Waterways and I just couldn't do it. The idea of everyone getting their happy ending made me experience a jealousy I've never had before. But eventually I did keep reading and Rocky started facing issues that related somewhat to what I was facing and it gave me some sort of relief. Can't wait for volume 2

Excellent story by Kyell Gold

Very happy to see another book in the world shared by Out of Position. It shares similar themes of coming of age, discovering yourself, and a drive to carve out your own place into the world despite all the challenges. Feels short compared to the long series we’ve seen before, but still worth appreciating.

Good read, but feels the same.

BE ADVISED, SPOILERS!

the story is, as always, a good Romance Novel that keeps you reading. however it appears that Kyell gold keeps to his usual style of writing (not really gonna complain) but glad to see he made the Mother an absolutely amazing and accepting character (looking at you Out of Position series with Lee's mom, followed by Red Devil and the third book in that installment. then looking at Waterways so was expecting the same overbearing motherly character but was very surprised with the choice he made for this character who outright accepts what Rocky is and it's great seeing that! literally laughed outloud with some of the moments she had). However it did touch up on student teacher/coach relations which really makes you wish that character got a good bout of karma against him. In all, it was a really good read/listen and I cant wait to go through it again.

Another amazing book by one of my favorite authors

Man! Another amazing book by one of my favorite authors. I’ve been moving recently but haven’t had time to read a lot of books. Then, I found out this Kyell Gold book that I didn’t recognize. I always love listening (reading) to any book of Kyell Gold.

I went ahead and downloaded it with my extra credits and boy was this a fun and amazing book. Kyell Gold has made a number of anthropomorphic LGBT sport related books and I really liked this one. I too have played tennis (not professionally) but I spent several summers when I was growing up at a tennis camp. The way that Kyell Gold wrote the different technics and skills is incredibly impressive. One of the things that “Love Match” thrives in is the characters.

Kyell Gold is notorious for having incredible three dimensional characters. “Love Match” is no exception. All of the characters are incredibly relatable and memorable. One of the things that I really like about this story is that it steers different from his other book like “Out of Position” and my personal favorite, “Waterways”. There’s a lot of moments where anyone who is coming to terms with who they are may relate a lot to the main characters in this book.

This audiobook also has a fun and engaging narrator. Jeremy Sewell does a fantastic job with reading the book and keeping the characters engaging and memorable.

Honestly, this book is a fun, engaging, and memorable coming of age LGBTQ+ story. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already.

Beautiful

The Story is Multiple things at once. Drama, romance, sports, and just a fun flick. I personally loved it because it blends the anothroporphic animals into something that's more human instead of instincts all the time. if you love any of the things above then you'll enjoy this!

missing chapters?

I'm confused as to why I'm missing chapters 18 and why chapter 21 ,22, and 19 are out of order... really disappointing
