The unfiltered truth about being a rugby player - from the horsey's mouth.

This book is not just about how I got back on my horse and went clippity-clop all the way to the World Cup final in Japan.

It's the story of how a fat kid who had to live up to the nickname Psycho grew up to play (and party) for over a decade with rugby's greatest pros.

From just about surviving the equivalent of 30 car crashes a game and crooning Adele for team spirit, to extensive field notes on the smell of the Scrum and the fine art of on-pitch relief. Then there's rugby's secret naked wrestling scene and how it was exposed.

In my world, you never know how the ball will bounce....

I loved this!

This book was wonderful! Maybe because I was a prop in college I knew what to expect - but this book was exactly what I expected. Disappointed it got so many poor reviews. Joe does a great job reading it too!

Excellent!

Absolutely loved it. Funny, charming, inspiring, and keeps you wanting more. So glad I gave this one a try, and that it is read by the man himself. Please write another!!

Absolute killer

I've always searched for a rugby book that was inspiring and Joe marler killed it. This book made me love the game more, but also look at myself as a person. His honesty of personal hardships is a eye opener, and makes me want to do better for myself, not only as a person but as a player and a dad.

Changed my mind completely

As a dedicated Welsh fan, I have always disliked Joe Marler. However, after listening to Joe tell his story in such an engaging, funny, and even touching way, I dislike him a lot less. I even like his voice. He did a great job narrating the book. I highly recommend this book to any sport fan, but especially any rugby fan.

Top Drawer

A fantastic read (or listen). I can relate to many of the topics included, outside of the whole elite, world class rugby player thing. Thanks, Joe!

Marler is a gem

Great insight into a complex man who is more than just a prop. Hilarious and touching. Even the biggest Marler haters will walk away with a soft spot in their heart for Joe

Amazing storytelling!

I wasn't familiar with Joe Marler besides his impressive playing as an england prop. This story is touchingly raw and honest, but even more, well told and funny. Listening to his voice doing aaalll the accents is hilarious and had me and my husband howling at parts. It feels like spending a night in his company. Awesome read! Highly recommended!

Storytelling that made me laugh out loud.

If you like rugby even a little bit, listen to this book. Joe's stories and voice-overs were often the highlight of my day. Incredibly honest, vulnerable and insightful.

Thanks Joe!

Absolutley loved it.
The audio version was great and being an American I would not have had the same experience had I read it myself.
