interesting story line

Narration excellent. Story line was ok, if a little improbable. A good audio book has some parts where you just want to keep listening, this one did.

Good storyline which was well read. Recommended for easy listening. Will now read it too.

Flows so well that you can’t put it down. I would have wished for a more “fairy tale” ending, but that’s just my style.

Dtory of family life, love and loss

The narration is very good. The characters are realistic and it is easy to sympathize with the challenges of their lives. Simple, yet we'll written story that help my attention and made me think it ended too soon.

Intriguing storyline

Took me a while to get into the plot, but as the characters developed, I became hooked.

Enjoyable

A widow with a daughter going through a divorce. Online dating. Racism. Hypocrisy. Injustice. Lies and fifty year old secrets come to light. An excellent story.

Captivating

Took a few chapters for me to get into this one, but very glad I stuck with it.

interesting twists

The 2 narrators mad it easy to know which character was speaking. I like learning a bit about how the Korean War affected the psychological personality of those who born in Korea and immigrated to California in the 1960s, early 1970s. I worked with 2 male Korean doctors in the mid seventies. I wish that I had this insight then.

Good storu, compelling characters

I felt pulled in by the characters and the story flowed beautifully. I did think the ending was a little abrupt, wanted to know more about what happens with Alice, Derrick and their baby.

I couldn't stop listening!

I thought this book was great! Such a compelling narrative about five lives! I think the author captured everything beautifully and gave great depth to the characters. I disagree with some reviews about the ending...I think it was well thought out and exactly how it should have been.
