Publisher's summary

Experience the fifth episode of the Baumgartner & Momsen detective story series for German learners on your stereo or headphones, at home or on the go!

The narration style and speed of this audiobook is aimed at providing learners with real-world spoken German which is clearly understandable, not too fast, but also not too slow.

When a loyal family dog comes upon a human ear in its feeding dish one morning, the police is notified immediately, but due to a sudden change in staff, the investigation proceeds only haltingly.

Another audiobook read and highly recommended!

This was the last "Heidis Frühstück" book in the series "Learning German through Storytelling: Baumgartner & Momsen Detective Stories for German Learners, Collector's Edition 1-5 (German Edition).

Despite being a series of books you can read them alone, although I think you won't be able to do that. And I strongly recommend that you read them in sequence, you will get more out of the story and it will be more enjoyable to read them.

In this last episode the two detectives are faced with a mysterious case, to say the least, and as always in André Klein's stories you can't guess what will happen until you read the end of the story.

In this story we have an intriguing case involving a package of dog food, former employees, retired or not, and a pet food industry.

Everything develops little by little and in an intriguing way, in this last episode there is even the participation of an intern "helping" or "learning" from the two protagonist detectives.

This is another book that I can't help but recommend, if you have basic German or are at an intermediate level you will really enjoy reading the book.

The author knows how to balance history, vocabulary within a crime thriller with mastery in a book aimed at language students, from what I could observe. Forensic and scientific subjects linked to the police and crime areas are part of the vocabulary that you will definitely learn.

I hope you'll enjoy it!
