Publisher's summary

Do you want to get more out of your projects?

Do you feel that your current business layout is efficient enough to meet demands while also minimizing waste? Are you a manager that wants your business to make a shift towards becoming more productive while also conserving valuable resources?

If your answers to any of these with a yes, then it is time to learn Lean Six Sigma.

The production process in any business is defined by two things, waste and product. The latter’s quality must be ensured or improved on while the former must be reduced.

What many never realized, however, is that the two things are not only vital to the business. In fact, they are quite related to each other that improving in one aspect will affect the other. All that is necessary, then, is to implement a system that ensures both goals are met sufficiently.

This is where the Lean Six Sigma methodology comes in and it makes for a rather simple yet effective strategy to reduce overall waste and improving production quality. In this guide, you will be introduced to several important topics such as:

  • Lean Six Sigma and its main principles.
  • How it combines methods from the Lean and Six Sigma methods.
  • The different approaches to Lean Six Sigma.
  • The potential mistakes that could occur in applying Lean Six Sigma and how to avoid them.
  • The benefits of implementing Lean Six Sigma.
  • How the Method is similar and different from other Lean methodologies.
  • How to implement a Lean Six Sigma into your business.
  • And many more...

Lean Six Sigma is best learned on a structured framework. As such, this book has been organized in such a way that you will not only understand the solution but also how to apply the same to your problem.

To help you do that, the book also presents information in a practical and not overly complicated manner. In short, if you are the one that wants useful information presented to them minus the pomp and fluff, then this book should be worth the while.

Excellent resource

An excellent resource for those of us whose brains are not naturally wired for high-powered, statistically-based materials

Really interesting

Really interesting and easy to follow, the company I work for is very sigma six / lean manufacturing orientated so I thought I would try and understand and this is really good for entry-level understanding.

This is a great reference.

I would prefer this over Better organized and seems to have the right balance of theory and practical application for the Lean Six Sigma practitioner.

Easy to understand

Easy to understand tools and techniques. It describes them in a high-level manner as there is an assumption you already know LSS. It is brief enough to skim quickly but detailed enough to refresh your memory and help you consider alternative approaches to problem-solving. If you forgot something simply review this book and you will remember.

Very Good

This book is more akin to an encyclopedia, which is great for use in juxtaposition with instruction, but maybe not so much if you wanted to read up on the subject. The point that you can get the audible for free evidence the author's interest in helping those of us who are seeking a way to advance our understanding of this subject.

Very Concise

This book is very concise and straight to the point. One needs not to ponder over thousands of lines to find the definition and application of Lean Six Sigma tools. I am a beginner in Six Sigma and using this book along with my training material.
