Good, an American version would be nicer

I'm enjoying this very much. I think the method is sound, and I'm learning.

There are a couple of issues specific for American listeners. The Spanish is pronounced in a way that is uncommon in the Americas. To those of us accustomed to hearing Spanish spoken by Central/South Americans, it sounds affected.

Even the English part can be a challenge. One of the "memory hooks" - for dos (two) was "it sounds like doss, to sleep". This had me totally confused and I looked it up. Apparently it's a British word.

Regardless, I think this is well worth the cost.

What did you like best about Rapid Spanish? What did you like least?

The background music made this fun, and it was great that they repeated phrases over and over, fast and slow and broken down into parts.

Has Rapid Spanish turned you off from other books in this genre?

He seemed to be an actual non-speaker, you could hear his lack of confidence sometimes when trying to speak a phrase.

Yes, for those wishing to learn Spanish of the Americas.

This was an audiobook for Spaniard Spanish, which is not the same kind of Spanish that you would hear in Mexico and similar places.

Where is vol 2?

As I see it, the purpose of this audio book is for backgroud listening. I am able to go about my normal home routine cooking, cleaning and emailing tasks with this playing in the background. Its easy to tune out and equally easy to listen and pick up words or phrases. I am looking forward to vol 2

Enjoyable way to review and learn

What did you love best about Rapid Spanish?

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Earworms Spanish 1. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and 1 year in college (20+ years ago) - so I was looking for an enjoyable way to review and relearn the language. I mostly listened while cooking in the evenings and it was perfect for that. I like the music, even when the music was not my usual, like the techno dance tunes, changing it up worked well for my attention. I also liked the male and female voices. They had some humor and banter between them which made it less sterile than many other language CDs I've tried.

My only complaint was on the track/chapter where they covered numbers the guy interjected his bizarre & nonsensical memory associations in order to remember the words for each number. I found this extremely annoying - I'd prefer to use my own memory tools, not hear his. I skipped this track when I listened again for second & third time. The accent they used is perfect for me since I will be traveling in Spain. On several occasions they talk about how a word or phrase would be different in Latin America.

Oh, and the description details mention there is a free booklet - but I couldn't figure out where or how to get this. Since I'm more of a visual learner this booklet would have been helpful.

Yes, I bought Earworms Spanish 1, 2, & 3. 1 & 2 are the best - cover the most and more hours of listening for your money.

easy listening

Great for beginners. The one is relax with calming music. Recommended but not for advance Spanish

I could not understand the Spanish over the background music. Got frustrated and looked for different audio.

This would be good for traveling but not for learning to communicate with migrant workers.

while the concept is admirable, the disconcerting accents (castillian, scots?) make this a disappointing execution.

While the pace of these instructions is good, it is very difficult to hear the subtleties of the pronunciation because the background music is too loud.
