The Pimsleur® Method is scientifically proven to be your fastest route to near-native fluency. Speak and understand Hebrew in just 30 minutes a day. Hebrew Phase 1, Units 16-20 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Hebrew.

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

"Brilliant - I love it!!"
I listen to this every day going to and from work and am able to practice within the confines of my car. There are no distractions and it gives me a total of between 30 & 60 mins per day, which is perfect. When a chapter introduces lots of new vocabulary, I might listen to it for a little more than an hour a day.
I don't move on to the next chapter until I have grasped the one I'm on. They build on vocabulary learned in previous chapters in subsequent chapters, so there's plenty of chances to consolidate learning.
It's good for developing a convincing accent and great for spoken/conversational Hebrew, but it's no good at all for learning to read.
For me it's working well and I am learning way more than I learn in Hebrew lessons, which are focusing on reading & writing. I find that what I learn with this audio helps in my lessons at the university - and not the other way around. In fact, if it wasn't for this audio course, I would probably have given up on my course at university before the end of the first term.
I recommend this 120% - especially if you're able to use it in the car on a regular basis. Personally, when I try to use it at home, I find that there are too many distractions. The pace can be controlled as can the number of revisions. The topics deal with useful vocabulary that you will be able to put into use straight away.
Essentially, if you are looking to learn to speak (not read & write) Hebrew, I can not recommend this highly enough.
"Great learning system!"
The system is great for learning languages . I prefer the audio since I don't have much time for learning. With audio I can always hear during driving or walking to work.
The Pimsleur method is better than other ones I have tryed. Specially because you can hardy find one system that goes beyond the basic 10 first lessons.
By the audible Pimsleur I only find one disadvantage. If I bought 5 chapters, I can't skip to the next chapter automaticly (as it would be the next song) in my MP3 with the fast forward button I can't find it easyly. and takes a lot of time . I have also music in my MP3, and when I switch to music sometimes I lost the chapter I was listening.Other audible language courses allows you to move from chapter to chapter as they would be individual tracks.
I highly recommend this method. Due to the way this technique is structured, most of what you've learned sticks in your head and you're able to start constructing sentences after only a small number of lessons have been taken, in fact, it's encouraged in the audio! I'm sure the entire course won't put you anywhere near fluency but i'm confident that it will give you a very good foothold in Hebrew for exploring the language on a higher level independently, whether through advanced courses or books and discussions.
